    My pet tarantula. Key points:

    • Easier to care for than a houseplant

    • Agoraphobic — wants to be in a small dark space at all times

    • Engages in rich antics like crawling on the ceiling, sitting still for days, and shedding its exoskeleton

    • You can let it crawl on you while you do the dishes to condition your arachnophobic roommate to leave you alone whenever you’re in the kitchen

    All of them, but my all time favourite was a huge blue point Siamese mix. He was the best cat ever. No longer with us, sadly.
