This is a really sad case. Men like this target their victims carefully and often go for vulnerable people. It can be a grooming process, and they slowly build a cage round her so she can’t get out. Her and her baby deserved better.

I think you make a really good point about men often not changing. Abusive men tend to be totally selfish and don’t accept they’re wrong, making them resistant to change. Dysfunctional men often just don’t do the work they need to do to function well. Many men just ignore the issue and hope it goes away.

Patriarchy really damages men. Showing emotion and getting MH support is seen as weakness. Abusive men have unrealistic expectations so are never truly happy. It destroys so much.

I think she’d love that I do lot for charity and stuff. She’d love my house, hair and like lots of my clothes. She’d have mixed feelings about me not being in touch with my family.

Regarding my sexuality… I think she’d probably shriek that she’s straight and hide under the duvet. So I don’t think I’ll mention that…

I really helped a client this week, I spoke to her in a way she understood and helped her understand something.

Holy shit this woman is sensational! She didn’t just have a voice, she made sure she got that voice and used it to scream about other people’s needs. She stood up against regimes, practices, businesses and society to do right by women and kids.

I know I should like the adoption best, but I just love that she fought for workers rights. Women had fuck all power at the time, working class women even less. She fought for a group that were often illiterate, poorly educated and seen as beneath all others. She really was amaaaaazzzing

Holy shit that’s bad mate. It’s a classic situation, bullies pick on those that are different, then the decent people have to avoid the victim or the bully will go for them. People survive by trampling on others to get ahead. Stockholm syndrome is right, I’ve got a friend that works in a toxic culture and her idea of normal is awful. She just doesn’t see how bad a lot of it is. It gets almost post apocalyptic with people doing what they want cos there’s nothing to stop them. Do you have any long term career goals?
