For anyone interested, I rolled my own solution with bash scripts and rclone. it works well enough.

oh, i see. Do you have any suggestions for another backup tool? I tried kopia, but couldn’t figure it out.
ETA: I should note, this is on a pi without a GUI.

the 90s internet was so much better. I want the 90d internet back. even if it did take a week to download a movie

I think it’s time to cancel the internet.

there’s also the fact that for a fair number of years, macs were also PCs

I didn’t get anymore because my poor heart couldn’t take losing a loved companion after only a couple years :(. I won’t get any more rats. my heart can’t take the loss

if you get rats, you can’t have just one. they’re highly social and need other rats. two is the absolute minimum, but three is better. please don’t get just one. it’s cruel.
eta: also, they need a big cage. since they’ll be spending 20-23 hours a day in it, they need a lot of space. those little hamster cages won’t do (they’re too small for hamsters too tbh). the king of rat cages is the double critter nation. I had one. it was epic. they had soooo much room
they also need at LEAST one hour of playtime outside of the cage. but that’s just the minimum. if you can give them more, that’s even better.
sorry for the rant. a lot of people don’t realise how to PROPERLY look after rats. also, I’m highly passionate about rats and giving them best life possible, and since they only live a few short years, you will want to give them the best lif le possible
awwww. she’s gorgeous. give her scritches from this random internet weirdo :)

found this, and it looks interesting.

it sucks that animals that can be SO affectionate (they pee on you to claim you as theirs lol) only live for 2-3 years, 4 if you’re really really really lucky. It sucks :/

Linus doesn’t get enough credit. imagine if the internet was run on windows. we’d have to restart the internet every couple of days

I had companion rats. I had 7 of them (almost all rescued). they’re smart little guys. they can be toilet trained and you can teach them all sorts of tricks. I miss my rats :(
not to mention that it’s annoying that it stops my music from playing.
good evening, sock cat :)
I like zen, but their plugin section needs work. With the layout of Zen being what it is, when you display plugins on the toolbar, it distorts the UI and looks funky.

I don’t know, but I expect it’s having an issue because i assume the port is forwarded from your router to your caddy, but then the caddy server it redirecting back to the router. I don’t know how you’d get around this. but that might be a starting point for your research.
ETA: Also, it’s a bad idea to expose your consumer grade router to the internet. VERY bad idea.

You have to think about the extra costs, like power use , loudness etc. I have no idea what your server would be like, but it’s something to think about. FWIW, i reused my old desktop (it’s pretty beefy) into a server, but i run a pi now, because it was costing me a fair bit to run in power usage.
well, it was nice knowing you
