I was sent to a worksite, so mildly aware of the area (pretty high crime but mainly in the late hours), but it was early and I was with a partner. They pulled in first and had walked up and around the corner. The lot was down an alley. I parked, and as I was walking up the alley a BIG man comes from the opposite direction. I was alone, he made eye contact, and began to reach towards me and say “heeey”. I swear it was .05 seconds and the phone I already had in hand was against my ear, I skipped away, forced myself to pretend I had never perceived him, and said “yeah I’m here I’m coming around the corner now” as loud as i could. I keep replaying it though. It could have been a more determined asshole in that alley easily, and I might have been in a situation. Never doing in-homes again.

Unless your partner is an asshole, tell them briefly about the incident and ask them to wait at the vehicle rather than put you in that position again. You’re partners for a reason, to have each other’s six.
Yeah I’ve taken care of that end. Ordinarily I would work alone for a home session. But I immediately requested they either a)come in person or b)swap remote after this, which is being respected thankfully.
