Why do you care so much about defending unimaginably wealthy corporations stealing the labor of regular people?
See, now we have both misrepresented each others comments.

This is why I focus on distribution rather than training. If you commercialize a model trained on things you don’t own/license, and it generates anything remotely infringing, you should be fully on the hook for every single incident.
But if a model is trained and distributed freely as FOSS, then it’s up to anyone running it to ensure the output is not infringing. This protects fair use while also ensuring that big companies tread more carefully when redistributing models that can violate fair use by competing with those whose work was trained on without permission and are subsequently being emulated without permission.
Wow, and it’s made with Godot!?
Not to rain on the parade, but as long as we allow the reality-sized hole that is non-profits owning for-profits, this isn’t something I can get terribly excited about.
I’d prefer just running Linux on metal, but that’s me.
Whatever happened to all those Linux mobile projects, anyway?
This whole “for-profit owned by a non-profit” paradigm needs to globally crushed right the fuck now. It should never have been allowed to happen and should not be tolerated.
“Mozilla acquires ad company”
FTFY, linuxiac.
It’s the same picture.
I do like their laptops, but for literally everything else: the fact that I basically don’t own my own hardware.
I can’t install or distribute my own software without Apple’s arbitrary approval. When Apple decides it’s done supporting the products, I can’t even install a different OS like Linux because the hardware is completely locked down… they become paper-weights.
That is not how ownership is supposed to work.
This has been my stance for decades. They’re worse than Ubisoft when it comes to immoral and unethical treatment of their fans and customers.
Hard pass. The art style, the music, the whole vibe…
I don’t understand how you create a masterpiece like DA:O and then repeatedly go “let’s make a followup that is nothing like that whatsoever…”
I love Debian, but want Plasma 6, so I’m installing openSUSE right now.
I was going to say most of this, too. I’m a big adherent of BDD, which works well with agile. It clarifies what everyone is working on without getting weighed down in unnecessary minutiae or “documentation for paperworks sake”… it lives and evolves with the project, and at the end becomes both testing criteria and the measurement of success.
I was obsessed with Wizardry and Ultima growing up… but I can’t stomach the node-based, turn-based conceit any more. I had a hard time finishing Wizardry 8 back in… ok, maybe I don’t want to know how long ago that was.
But I was spoiled by the real-time evolutions of the concept… stuff like Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Ultima Underworld, Descent to Undermountain, and the like (also, shout-out to Arx Fatalis).
I would love more epic dungeon crawlers, with the soul of these classics but all the modern conveniences, graphics, and gameplay advances.
Valves next game…
SQUEEEEEE!!!
it’s an Overwatch-style hero shooter
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Left as soon as I saw the Asus shilling.
Evaporate the brine and sell/use the salt?
In that case, I didn’t misinterpret you, either. You argued in favor of labor theft.
