Me seeing this: Social Anxiety intensifies
I don’t know what you’re talking about. We’ve had Lemmy Gold for years now.
I’d be irritated. First, I’ve boycotted Amazon, so it would be really bizarre to have them send me something. And more so, that’s a lot of wasted resources for “nothing.”
Speed, mass and smell my dear Watson.
They hardly break over 20 mph.
They are HUGE, so it’s gonna take more time to get it up to speed. But more importantly, if it did get hit by another vehicle, it’s more likely that the garbage truck would take least amount of damage and or get moved.
It smells. Nearly no one is gonna want to be around it nor hit it. So it’s a natural deterrent.
I’ll throw in that it’s way faster for the workers to come and go from the back, than it would be for them to load into the truck near the front every time (or nearly every time).
And another thing…
Fuck you. That’s why. lolol
edit: grammar
!imadethis@lemmy.zip would also be a good place to share this.
In a slightly odd way, I think this might be a positive for some looking for a new place online.
That’s the act now and think about it later, kinda thing. Most of us were trained as early as the age of 2 to 16 to not do that. But some forget the lesson or were never taught the lesson to begin with. Sad but true.
Although, there is a deceiving reason to do it. I couldn’t decide on one term that I’ve heard more than the other, so I’ll share them all.
Rage farming - deliberately creating outrage content for engagement
Performative activism - actions done more for visibility than impact
The attention economy - where virality itself has monetary value
Another that fits well is, Outrage profit.
…
This kind of act isn’t as bad if you were gonna throw your toilet away anyway. And if you got enough people to watch it on YT or now TikTok, you could in theory, make enough or more to cover the cost of the item you destroyed. Rage bait is a chronic issue online. And sadly, I spent many years exposing myself to it and not realizing that most of it was an act or the post and/or poster was orchestrating it for their interests.
You’re doing better than at least 1/3 of the world. (This comment is not backed by science. Just by a feeling.)
Makes sense. Raptor Jesus was his name after all.

!lv426@lemmy.world would like this.

When I saw this meme, I quickly made a strong reminder to keep a lookout for TTRPG dice bread makers. I really want to try them out. I think it would make a great piece of bread that could be filled with jam/preserves via the numbers etched or crafted with filling, or perhaps colored cream cheese.

Wait… How is this a meme? It just seems like a PSA.
And if it is, why is it worthy of this community?
Just the tips, eh?

These dudes were definitely high on something when they saw this shit, then decided to write about it. What do you think the “burning bush” was actually?!?

Thanks for the heads up team! o7
In DnD, nearly anything is possible. So why not this? ¯\(ツ)/¯
Let’s see if they volley back.
