The Houthi’s are enforcing their ban on ships headed to or from Israel to enter Yemen’s water territory. They did this as a sanction on Israel because Israel is committing genocide on the Palestinian people. When the US and European countries started bombing Yemen for enforcing their law, they also banned US and some European ships from entering their waters. During the ceasefire they lifted the blockade, and since Israel ended the ceasefire they started banning ships again.
Capitalism is an inherently unstable system due to the contradictions that define it. Scapegoats are necessary to prevent working class from rising up, and economic conditions in the US have gotten so bad that most people no longer care about sustaining the status quo. So I don’t think the current rise of fascism could have been prevented without a socialist alternative.
Also Biden had already changed the geopolitical landscape when he openly funded an (even domestically) deeply unpopular genocide.
‘Western style democracy’ has never been truly democratic because of how money influences elections and politicians. True democracy isn’t possible as long as there exists a capital class in society. The capital class will not give up its wealth without a class war.
While agree with the sentiment, electorialism will never end capitalism because of the power imbalance where capitalists will spend all their money if they need to for heavy propaganda campaigns in favour of capitalism.

Thinking that social democrats are further from liberal than socialists and communists is pretty funny. I’ve yet to see any social democrat party oppose market economy and/or private property. All over Europe socdem parties have been part of governments that have privatised essential markets like healthcare, public transport and housing. Their actions speak louder than their words.

This meme is highly misinformed about how any of these academic subjects work though. (Meta)physicists and theologists don’t make claims, they research the consequences of certain assumptions. Most elementary sciences work that way.

I’ve been (temp) banned from a 196 for openly not supporting Biden. Denying and hiding the fact that there are a lot of queer leftists who do not support Biden is erasure so I think it’s actually extremely important to have a community that is explicitly for those voices that get erased elsewhere. You won’t see many posts there encouraging others not to vote for Biden (in fact, I believe a lot of frequent posters there intent to vote for him if he doesn’t step out). So the way you’re framing the discourse in that community is just blatantly false.
I do agree that there are a lot of comments on this post that are transphobic which is inexcusable. I also think that you specifically are using this situation to try to mischaracterise a person you already clearly dislike. OP is justified in being hurt and frustrated by the fact that They were misgendered and couldn’t call out the mistake. You’re taking it much further by saying that the mod in question wants to genocide queer people because he used the wrong pronoun 1 time.
Honestly by now it should be pretty clear for anyone reading your comment history that you’re not open to people having a different way to oppose the current genocide that is going on and are happy use lies (a lot) to put your point forward and to try to silence others.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason that he missed the capital in that comment is because he copied it from another comment he made or because writing that response has become so automated for him that he didn’t think about changing pronoun. It’s not an excuse but it’s more likely than it being intentional misgendering.
That community gets overrun by people saying to vote for Biden or defending Biden’s actions so it’s a lot of work to remove all those comments (there’s a lot of space on blahaj to voice those opinions and in my experience not much space to voice critique outside of libertyhub so I’m in favour of banning those comments there in order to elevate opinions that get suppressed elsewhere). It means that mistakes are easily made, and to make it themselves easier the mods there probably ban people for comments that they consider to be in a grey area because it reduces the workload.

The problem with that thread was that the admin kept arguing and trying to educate trans people on transphobia. If they didn’t know about JKR’s transphobia then they shouldn’t have kept on arguing as long as they have.
Putting in the energy to make well-rounded arguments in a discussion and educating a person who clearly has no idea what they’re talking about does not seem like a nightmare to me. I’m honestly pretty glad that they did that.
