The US had/has a bunch of fraternal societies. Most of them weren’t racist, at least any more than anyone was in those times. They were mostly social/drinking clubs with a few fun or silly rituals thrown in. Groups like the Shriners and Freemasons fall under this category. The places they gathered are referred to as Lodges.

Those dates are a lot more recent than I was expecting.
I’m mostly referring to the part when they were founded. I am not familiar with the stuff involving the supreme court. Though it does seem sus.
