Some of the notable things in the patch:
- Savage begins for the first Dawntrail raid tier
- New master recipes for crafters
- New craftable gear for DoW/DoM
- Treasure portals have been added
- Tomestones of Heliometry have been added with a weekly cap of 450
basically, instead of nerfing picto they buffed everything else. The biggest changes are:
VPR: removed their boss side debuff that causes more 10% damage, and baked extra potency into the regular abilities (sorta like leaden fist / monk stuff).
BLM: Buffs via enochian, f4, despair and some aoe stuff, re-addition of ice paradox, and a QOL change to Umbral Soul that pauses the eno timer indefinitely after you press it.
SAM: Basically got a mini rework, tsubame is no longer tied to a Meikyo or Tsubame-gaeshi timer, you literally just hit Kaeshi Setsugekka after every single midare. This screws with the loop, you have to do 1 more gcd per minute which means no filler at 2.14/2.15. Ad hoc play unaffected. This also single handedly makes speed samurai viable as this is a pretty massive buff to the basic 10 (previously 9) gcd loop of building up 3 sen and doing your double midare.
I see they made Viper even easier and, in other forums, people are absolutely livid about it.
If I’m reading it correctly, they’re removing Noxious Nash from the AoE attacks I think? Along with the potency buffs.
From what I understand, they had a debuff they had to maintain on the boss but also not overcap. That was removed and replaced with a generic damage buff to your next few attacks or some such.
Not a viper player myself so don’t have the specific names or anything.
I’ve levelled it but I just follow the glowing icons, I don’t know the skill names either 😂 Other than the fact Flank and Hind are in the flank and rear positional skills.
They made Viper worse lol
It was never hard to play, it’s just hard to understand from tooltips, and these new changes make it even more confusing to read. Rather than just “keep your [DoT] up,” which happened automatically as you did your rotation, and fit the precedent set by other classes, now you have alternating buffs for half your rotation, which are also applied automatically as you do your rotation.
Gameplay hasn’t changed at all, it just does the same thing in a more confusing way lmao
I tried it last night and just played it like normal, the only difference I noticed was after completing the usual 123 combo it now highlights which skill you should start the next combo with.
Always happy to see DRK buffs!
