I do so only when it is inconvenient, while maintaining eye contact and looking like I’m in a hurry, and the approaching person could hurry it up a bit.
Whenever I do this I say out loud, “Don’t you hate it when someone holds the door but you’re a bit further behind than they anticipated and now you feel like you have to hurry?” 😁
I hold open to the door for everyone when it’s convenient!
