Just wanted to say thanks to the dev of this great app. I’ll be leaving Lemmy because I just can’t stand the amount of circle jerking communities there are, but while I was here I enjoyed the app itself.

Good job, and thanks for your service!

Once you subscribe to the stuff you want and stick to home, you’re pretty good…

Diving into All? Be ready to block all the anime furry porn.

I guess I should try following more communities.

Btw, I haven’t seen a single furry community. Haven’t been on the lookout though.

Yeah, once you have a curated feed, it’s actually pretty good, and the search function for communities makes it pretty easy.

But I definitely see why All is a turn off. I only dip into it occasionally to see if there’s something new that might be of interest.

I spent a day or two mashing “block community” and have a decent feed now, but if they continue to crop up faster than quality subs grow it will be a frustration.

Apparently a new version of Lemmy is coming soon which will allow users to block entire instances without having to fully defederate them.

So if you find you’re getting a lot of bullshit communities from, I dunno, lemm.ee (just using that as an example, not saying they’re an offender), you’ll be able to block all of it in one shot.

Nice! Just use the search and find the communities you’re interested in, subscribe to them, and stick mostly to “Home”, popping into “All” once a week or once a month to see what’s new. Or blockable. Or new and blockable. ;)
