I haven’t checked out the BIOS yet. The weird thing is it’s inconsistent… sometimes it sleeps perfectly, other times wakes immediately after shutting down. Just tested it now for instance and sort of like “hey mechanic my car makes this weird noise… oh uh, it’s not doing it now” it slept normally so there wasn’t anything to observe.

i obtained a coffee grinder from IKEA 2-3 years ago. Somehow i feel like i shoplifted it even though I paid it for it… they were out of coffee grinders so I surreptitiously removed the “I be IKEA” tags and made them look it up at checkout. My fuckin ex broke the glass french press, just like my loser brother did to my double wall German one 10 years ago. I’m over it. I do not have to grind for 5-10 minutes or harm myself to make coffee.

As far as I can figure out, maybe a Siberian. Maine Coons are usually pretty big and this was just a cute little cat. He/she/cat followed me around the store for a while and it was pretty much the best experience I’ve ever had grocery shopping.

Cat seems pretty happy to be around all that milk! It’s in a Chinese supermarket in the US. Of course they also have a lot of products from SE Asia, so I’m not sure… looks like the one on the right has a Vietnamese name. The pic I posted yesterday has the cat standing directly on top of the stack of milk.

Sure, I imagine off-world lifeforms having entirely different metabolism. Like when we hear “this planet has a methane atmosphere” it’s like holy cow, sounds rough, but alien entities would possibly think the same thing about our planet of water and nitrogen. Imagine how horrible it would sound to someone who was water-soluble. “H2O rains down from the sky!!”

Melitta, Hario and various others offer pour-over cone things made out of ceramic. I agree I’d prefer that to a plastic one as anything involving plastic and boiling water seems like a bad idea to me.
