  • Oh no worries! Grub is the boot loader. So you turn on the computer and the firmware looks at its list of things to boot from. When you first installed manjaro it booted from the usb and let you install the OS while running off the usb. Usually you would have had to go into the firmware to adjust the boot priority list, and put usb on the top. Now you can go back in and look at that boot priority list again. Now what you’re gonna look for is where manjaro installed grub you can make that the top priority so that next time you reboot it will choose grub, and grub will fire up your linux install. Also in that firmware menu you can look at the other boot options, for example if you have an HP laptop you’re going to need to enable legacy booting because the default secure boot settings sometimes cause issues.

  • I haven’t tried that exact set up myself but in hyprland the default tiling would have your Elden Ring on one half and your friends the other half. Then if you opened up discord it would split one of the halves in half again. If you wanted to have discord instead floating and over top of the stream you could do that, or send it to the next “desktop” over if you don’t need to see it. You can customize each of the tiles however you like, border or no border, you can move them around…

  • If you look at the whole spell list it’s kind of daunting. But you’re starting off at level one I would assume, so you will only have a small portion of the low level spells to look at initially. It’s super manageable If you think about it in small chunks, and you’ll have lots of time to read through the higher level of spells and think about the ones you wanna learn once they are available when you level up. Healing… really? A wizard of your talents?

I just saw above you mentioned that you played wow. It’s kind of the same thing, if you were to look at the endgame skill list of another class that you never played before it would be crazy. But when you start them off at level one there’s just a few mechanics to learn and it’s not overwhelming at all

  • You want “More to do” then look no further than wizard! You’re not a beginner anymore, you can handle the unlimited power! You can change your selections of spells each day, you have access to tools for any occasion. Ignore the direct damage spells, look at things that can change your party’s fortune without allowing your enemies a chance to even roll a saving throw. Buff your meatshields (ahem, allies), solve any and all noncombat problems with arcane power. Use your creativity to drive your dm crazy!

  • One of my buddies got metal gear for PlayStation when it was first released. I remember marvelling at the way that the enemies reacted to the footsteps and noises you made splashing through puddles. It was just something we had never experienced before. So much tension just trying to get through that first area to the elevator. And the cyborg ninja? Get outta here so fucking cool!
