  • Had the same issue, tried cleaning them off the leaves (didn’t have insecticidal soap though) which helped a bit, but they eventually came back (Metro Van, so slightly different conditions).
Kept killing them by hand regularly, which allowed the pepper to survive but no new leaves would make it as they were instantly attacked by the bugs and dried out.

In the end, I just had to chuck the pepper after getting 1 little habanero off it 😑 I haven’t come across a silver bullet solution when searching, so hopefully someone with positive experience can chime in.

  • Yeah, I wasn’t sure we’d get anything at all (not even flower buds) but was happy to at least see a plant grow. Then it all started getting “crazy” say maybe about 2 months back, where they picked up the pace in growth . Took some time for warmer weather to come to Lower Mainland BC and the inside temperature didn’t much matter…

I’m sure you’ll be fine and will have as much fun watching yours as we do. Though I did have a little scare when a few flower buds fell off as I tried to gently “shake” the plants every so often to help pollination, but upon inspection realized they must have died off even before as the part attaching them to the plant was dried up, so I assume that those specific flowers never did get pollinated and the plants were just getting rid of them.

I’ll follow this one before that garbage, I’m yet to use sunflower oil that performed worse than canola. Not sure what garbage they are pretending to reference, perhaps some shit Russians stole from Ukraine and shipped off to US?

Edit: slight side note, as the above may be interpreted in different ways. I’ve only ever bought Sunflower oil produced in Ukraine while in Canada, all of it has been high quality. Have seen some from Balkans (IIRC?) but it was cloudy so didn’t even bother trying it. Not saying it’s an inherent country of origin issue there, more like Walmart trying to find some cheap shit to make money off of. I think Italy was the only other country I saw as a source once and that was just ridiculously priced, mostly because it was mixed with olive oil.

  • Aw it’s a shame I’m a month late, but for what it’s worth I’m happy with my merino shirt purchase (long sleeve) from Costco. Bought first few @ 15 CAD each then next year caught a 5.97 or 4.97 CAD deal so topped up another 15 or so shirts and just cycle through them. Did the same with their socks when they were on offer, so even though some are wearing out, I have like 30 pairs…chucked 2 pairs so far I think.

Only downside about the shirts was that, the merino wool is not as nice as say Ice breaker and the 2nd year models were 80-85% merino only, now they’re back to 100% again but 25 CAD each.
