I think this is what motivates me to play AC games the most: They really integrate accurate locations and history into their story (with plenty to read and learn about in menus, and even tour modes). I was especially impressed with Origins (Egypt) and Unity (France). Haven’t had time to play newer ones yet.

Branch is apparently a $4B Silicon Valley startup, that raised $300M just two years ago. They can afford Nova’s team of twelve, or at least more than one fucking dev. They even fired Cliff, the one guy doing support (social, Discord, email, etc).

That said, I wish they wouldn’t have sold out. Nova is one of the few things I want to subscribe to, very well earned. Nobody can reasonably complain about $10-20 per year for “Prime Ultra” or something. I don’t even see a donate button in settings.

Trigger warning, please. Many of us survived the internet’s tragic Compression Artifact Wars. I know that some pockets of less fortunate areas still fight on, but we should not help spread their ignorance or nostalgic afflictions. Let us destroy this scourge once and for all. Oh no. What kind of outrageous scandal forced you to “resign and spend more time with family”? Wait, it’s just cats, it actually sounds nice.

My cat loves string, more than any other play thing. But I had to stop it when I found him with a, um… piece hanging out his butt. (And he actually chewed that one off at both ends, from a “fishing rod” toy.) Careful out there, friends of cats.

I love cats. Always trying to be so cool, but then they get comfy and let their guard down and boom, this face. A+

Walmart, Petsmart, Petco, Amazon; They’re everywhere, and come in too many flavors! Inaba (Japan) seems like a quality company, and Churu is well- reviewed (it’s protein puree, high moisture, nothing terrible in it).

My 12 y/o buddy just started eating them (chicken flavor), and goes alarmingly nuts for them. Great for adding water to diet, sick days, meds, etc. (Nulo, Tiki Cat, others also make quality puree pouches.)

My (big ol’) cat used to somehow get all the way on top of an SUV and bite/bump the little stubby antenna. Easy to miss the damage! Bet there’s a bunch of cars out there with (delicious) chewed-up antennas. (They usually unscrew and are replaceable, at least.)

Welp, better than my thoughts at first glance, that the cat was taxidermied into a sofa.

…but no seat belt. That’s not safety, just a costume.

This makes me wonder if “got to into a fight” could mean he wanted a friend but nope got attacked, which makes all things sad.

I’m also using Nova Launcher (on Pixel 6A), received Android 14 update, haven’t had any problems. Or frankly noticed many differences at all, which makes me hope they spent the year squashing bugs? Right, Google? …

Same here. I played around with the settings (extremely limited, typical of Google), but ended up just deleting the widget. I’m using Nova Launcher on a Pixel 6A. Hope it at least fits the default launcher UI better, otherwise it’s just terrible.

I do this with passwords, too. For example, generate 15 digits and add 5 digits (like +LMY!) to end. Many of those sites will list which passwords were stolen, easy to see to see which sites have unforgivably poor security.

For email addresses, the variation is useful, but it’s probably inevitable that it’s eventually sold, stolen or guessed. Still nice to have the evidence.

Super handsome. Maybe a lion. My void is similarly fluffy (home is now 37% hair), and comically polite and affectionate when it’s time to eat. After, he’s a very tough macho guy of course.
