I unironically miss when it was still Android Market. It was a clear name. What is a Play Store, really?
Edit: I searched it up and the reason is acceptable, you don’t need an Android device to purchase and utilize some of the content. I still think Play Store is a bad name tho
At this rate I’m not sure they’ll release it this year
This is a really high quality edit, I’m genuinely impressed. Probably not too much work mechanically but the attention to detail is great and someone who’s never seen it would probably think it was original. If I were a meme edit rater it would rank very high on my list. I don’t know how to make this comment not sound sarcastic or boomer-y but I actually really love this edit and will send it to people. They won’t understand it but that’s fine.
Have a couple of these and the buttons are inconsistent. Can take multiple presses to turn on, apparently a common issue with no fix. I still like them since it’s a pretty minor fault, but worth knowing before buying
Honestly no, I think I reflexively lock it though. I also figured the app would let the screen turn off if paused, but if it doesn’t that makes more sense
Yes but I’ve never seen anyone watch a video in the process. But I was more wondering about the logistics I suppose, like whether the audio is played out loud or in earphones, and how it can be kept playing while set down and lost.
Curious, do you watch videos while out? How do you have the uninterrupted time?
It’s open source and has aggressive privacy features so hopefully there will be data on whether it’s worthwhile soon. If it’s a good OS + has privacy focused hardware, it could be more compelling than a Pixel without hardware switches for the ultra privacy minded
You’ll probably find that most people prefer new conveniences over the old ways. Some older things like fountain pens are cool, but corded charging doesn’t have the same draw
It’s a few things for me personally:
Magnet/wireless charging is a one handed operation while corded charging is two
The magnet/wireless charging as a whole is slightly faster. At least one second, or more if you have an iPhone and don’t want to scratch up the stainless steel around the port. What do I do with that saved time? I don’t know either, but having one extra second is never a bad thing even if it’s not necessarily good
Wireless charging is easier in the dark
Whereas corded charging only provides the noticeable benefit of superior speed. This isn’t necessary if your battery is lasting through the day though. Now wireless charging is less efficient, so that sucks, but in use no one is actually noticing the extra electricity used and it’s probably equal environmentally to someone who charges and uses their battery multiple times a day.
Yeah you really can’t. I’m pretty desensitized from earlier internet with death and other shock gore content but had managed to avoid CSAM until today. It was a lot worse than I expected, felt my heart drop. Worse, my app autoplays gifs in thumbnail so it kept going while I was reporting it.
I’ve mostly forgotten and it wasn’t on my mind until I saw this thread (happened less than 24hr ago) but even the slightest reminder is oddly upsetting. Wish I’d thought of the Tetris thing.
Super weird that the Autobot insignia and the outline of the Decepticon one was made by one instance, but the Decepticon symbol was colored in by another.
Huh. I’ve been to all of those but Yokosuka, some as recently as a few months ago but also pre 2023, and I’ve found that almost everything I go to took card. I wonder if we somehow happen to only go to places that do/don’t take card and thus have totally different experiences with cash only.
And yeah the toilets are great. Toto sells them in the US if you’re based here. A little expensive, but if you’re gonna live at your current place for a long time, it’s probably worth it.
The bar sounds awesome, sheesh. That’s the cheapest tab of that size I’ve ever heard of. I buy most of my things while I’m there due to pricing, and even then I’m shocked at how damn cheap that is haha
