Proud owner of Miez (born 2013)

and previous owner of Koda and Lilly (2013&2021)

M&K ended up fighting all the time. I then took in L as a new playmate for Koda. Luckily K&L found a new home with friends

cats@lemmy.world•This used to be my comfy chair. Miez disagrees.
11·16 days agoFrom time to time she shares her space with me (sound on):

cats@lemmy.world•This neighbourhood cat is afraid of my Miez although she is twice her size, so she is careful to check if the coast is clear before snooping around my garden.
4·27 days agoAnd she’s doing it without getting into a single fight. It really is the optimum scenario. For contrast when I was fostering Sam - who never had a home before - I let him out after a few weeks as otherwise he would have become unbearable for Miez. He instantly was getting into fights with a neighbourhood male cat. Everytime I heard cats fighting, I instantly knew it was the both of them. That was one of the aspects why I pressured the people in my organization to put Samson high on the priority list for adopting out. He then found a forever home quickly, which was no surprise as he really was a good cuddle buddy and despite his size even a shoulder cat.

Yes you remembered correctly, usually it’s three full days. My friend just sent me this pic, so cute. As Koda is getting older he’s becoming much more chill, but he still is moody. And still a dick. Last time they visited, even Lilly preferred staying in the rest of the apartment with Miez rather than with him in the living room where the cat walls are - even though the two of them (L&M) hissed at each other.
Edit: Improved my English.
He’s only grumpy when he has to change places, which isn’t the case right now. So he’s all good
Believe me, Koda is neither little nor a baby. In fact, he’s 12 y/o and weighs about 5 kg.
Barley looks like a delight though :-)

cats@lemmy.world•Miez likes to carry her prey down to the ground before consuming it.
6·2 months agoHer brother is like that. He goes down one stair then flings himself onto one of the couches. Whether you’re in the way or not.

6·2 months agoYeah from them choosing this as their user name I guessed they know a bit about art, as German artists (like my father) use this term as well.

8·2 months agoThe boards have always been multi-functional. In my old apartment I had crazy-high ceilings, like about 4 meters, so they were really good for accoustics. Plus they hold the indirect lighting obviously.

7·2 months agoWell in the last months I haven’t really added anything, just re-arranged to better accomodate for changes in furniture.

14·2 months agoI know it’s a bit off topic, but may I ask you to recommend a color better fitting for this painting?

cats@lemmy.world•Due to her floofiness, Miez can't really hide even on the highest shelf
5·2 months agoShe was quite curious why I was standing on the table

13·2 months agoNah, that’s just the stripes that come off as “angry” to some people, so I have been told. She is an exceptionally nice, calm and cuddly kitty

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Don't mind me just making some ASCII
3·2 months agoWell you could go full circle and ask an AI to extract that.

cats@lemmy.world•Koda wants to return, but Lilly said no
5·2 months agoYeah my indirect lighting is two long light strips I have set up alternating throughout the whole room, plus one extra (also color) light for my biggest art piece.

cats@lemmy.world•So apparently horizontal stripes by the eyes come off as "angry". Do you think that's the case for Lilly, too?
4·2 months agoThey start off horizontal though
Edit: I think I whooshed

14·2 months agoIDK about curious, but she is far from calm. She is the busiest bee here by a long shot.
I think so, too. Very much!

cats@lemmy.world•Miez patiently waiting for some play time
3·3 months agoI never knew why people interpreted her look as angry, I never figured it was the stripes. I guess I just know her well enough to know that closing her eyes like that means she’s comfortable.

16·3 months agoIf it were her brother I would 100% agree. Miez on the other hand is just a really gentle and nice cat. Still looking forward to sitting that asshole starting later today though.
He likes to show off his beans, which are covered by hair though (due to his Maine Coon traits)
