I was in a museum last week that held some of the “greats” of modern and post modern movements, and I much preferred the other galleries.

For me, it’s not even close.

I found the first one was hampered by so many forced racing and card games as bottlenecks to progressing. Those would have been fine as optional side activities, but making them so mandatory really killed the pacing when it came to doing some shooting.

The bosses were super underwhelming. You had one giant boss where you were trapped in a small building and shooting up at him. Very uninteresting. The final sequence of the game felt like there was going to be a boss. Narratively the enemy headquarters are built up as being heavily defended, the bad guys are built up to be doing crazy genetic engineering, and the game gives you a last minute BFG. Then you get inside and it’s a bunch of reskinned low level enemies. Felt like the devs ran out of time or something.

In the shooting, the game did give tons of gadgets and options, though I rarely found myself using most of them.

I wish the sequel had built on the promises of the first game, but it basically turned into a generic shooter that cribbed the aesthetic from Borderlands.

Art is subjective, but for me being in a museum and going from Impressionism and post impressionism, and into a modern and post modern gallery is like a slap in the face.

In my experience, all I feel is it goes from beautiful paintings with high skill level used by artists to visually manipulate form and shape to create coherent but stylized images, to “check out this crushed oil drum, really makes you think huh?”

The stereotype is that instead of addressing bad morale, companies will buy the cheapest possible pizza for employees.

I don’t know if it’s ever commented on, but the VFX tend to make them pretty small.

This thread seems to be populated by competent people. I would like everyone to step back for a moment however and consider how many incompetent people exist.

Think about self-serve checkouts, and how despite items being clearly labeled and the machines having item lookups, people still struggle constantly. Now imagine how many more people would struggle without the label.

Think about the employee wrangling the self checkout dealing with increased frustrated customers. Think about how fickle customers can be, throwing up their hands at a minor obstacle and deciding to just buy avocados from now on from the store across the street that still uses stickers. You know these people exist. You know they exist in number. So do markets, so the laser etching is mitigating the problems they’ll have from removing stickers.
