There are 2 types of companies, the ones who have been hacked the the ones which don’t know they’ve already been hacked g about to be hacked.
If you’re curious about the company Clearview AI, check out the book “Your face belongs to us” by Kashmir Hill. It’s an interesting read.
Yes. My Zenfone 8 is “small” but I want it even more compact. My old Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is the perfect size!
I hane lost the use of so many Android app I paid for because they were delistd from the Play store. Not happy.
I now resort to creating a backup apk for my most usd ones. I also create a backup befors updating. Never know if an update will break something or even worse, remove a feature.
I have it on my Asus Zenfone 8 too. Sad to tink that my next phone upgrade will likely not have the 3.5mm port anymore. :(
If Apple had kept the 3.5mm port, we’d all probably still be having it on our phones and not have to deal with flimsy adapters.
And most other manufacturers too for following the stupid decision to remove the headphone jack.
“noauto” sounds like a step in the right direction. I might give it a shot.
Many thanks. You’ve been very helpful.
I have installed nfs-kernel-server packages. I think it is possibly a permissions issue.
I briefly considered mounting it on the host (Proxmox) layer, but the way I have things set up, I only power on the NAS if I need to access it. Most of the time the Proxmox hardware will be booting up when the NAS is off and I think it will cause boot issues trying to mount a NAS share which it cannot find.
Am using a Zenfone 8 with a jack. As for future upgrade, still unsure. My top priority would be the size - has to be the same or preferably smaller than the Zenfone, so that limits my potential options.
I was travelling recently and was fortunate to be able to watch a F1 race. The track had a FM broadcast of the commentary in English, and my Zenfone 8 with the built in FM tuner made itself very useful indeed, since the FM tuner only works with wired earphones.
I ended up mounting the NAS share via CIFS and it appears to be working.
I tried to mount the share as NFS, but it didn’t seem to work from the console in the container. I ended up using CIFS which worked.
I finally got around to getting things set up, and for some reason, the container I created for jellyfin refused to allow NFS mounting.
I ended up trying a “Turnkey Media Server” template which ended up working. It also didn’t allow NFS mounts, but it did allow CIFS mounting, which I used. Jellyfin is now refreshing the library. So far so good.
Yes, they may or may not launch the normal version. Then again, it’s only April. One can still hope. 👍
Manufacturers killed that word so no one can make fun of it. 🤣🤦♂️
Hopefully they’ll continue selling “compact” phones. Heck, I’m guessing there will be people who will be happy if Asus releases a compact phone every alternate year.
Right now, an Asus Zenfone 8. Been using it for a year and a half. Before that, a Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact which I used for almost 5 years. 😅
Another phablet sized phone. It’ll be a pass for me.
I don’t like horror games but Viscera Cleanup Detail I can accapt.
The only horror elements are the aftermath of a big and bloody gun fight and you’re tasked to clean up the mess. ;p
