From Nintendo’s point of view hacked device is a hacked device. Whether you use it to pirate or hack in multiplayer, they don’t really care, you’re not supposed to do either and they take that device off their network. I usually pay for games because second hand market exists but I also won’t condemn piracy because some can’t afford even that. It’s the expectation that a company like Nintendo has to take it under the guise of consumer protection that I find funny, bad political takes too.

You can still play your Switch games online after getting banned using LDN bridges. The best way to avoid getting banned from a Nintendo service is not to hack your device.

Say you get VAC banned, your entire library can’t play VAC multiplayer games. If you hacked in Splatoon you buy a new Switch but your library is retained.

They are denying you access to the service rather than your hardware. I prefer how Nintendo goes about it (locking hacked device) compared to Valve or Sony where your entire game library gets locked. As someone with a banned Switch I think that’s fair, I can pirate things on it anyway. Nobody said piracy has to be easy and I enjoy a bit of cat and mouse.

Apologies for my scatterbrain. In that case I’d go with BotW because it’s shorter/focused (others will say it’s too minimalist) and you’ll get to experience a modern Zelda game. Also, if you don’t own Switch 2 it runs good enough while TotK was just a bit too much for Switch 1.

TotK is better in every way but BotW is once in a lifetime experience due to how contemplative it can be. You’re not going to play both at the same time and they benefit from playing in order. If you’re low on cash buy some used copy of BotW off someone on Vinted* and sell on Vinted once done, then do TotK.

* or Craiglist or OLX or whatever is used locally where you live

While Chrono Trigger and FFVI are among my all time favourites, they’re kind of like an prog rock superbands. They’re a pinnacle of the era, impossible to top in their own categories. But if you know where to look there are probably some guys doing stuff as impressive, if not more, out of their garages. Sea of Stars and Chained Echoes come to mind.

I’ve only ever used a single huge public tracker for manga and anime and it’s still there. I assume there are more but I never bothered to look.

Why would manga piracy ever get hard, unless they stopped printing it on paper?

Also gave up on ToTK on Switch 1. There’s so much fighting and fiddling in UI at the same time that it was just unbearable with 30 FPS.

I’m asking how one thing leads to the other or what your end goal expectations are. I didn’t ask those questions when I did what you did and feel kind of dumb now. Wanted to spare you that.

What I’ve learned is that if your action doesn’t convince those already convinced of the opposite then it’s a wasted effort unless you’re building a tribe that feels superior to the other. Tribes are a bad way to go about politics.

Once protest is very visible, what happens then?

If you’re okay with consequences that I described (it happened in multiple places already but maybe there’s American exceptionalism at play), or are just a liberal and like what liberals have been doing then you’re probably getting everything you need out of those marches. That’s fine but then the point of this post seems to be communicating how much of a cool guy/gal you are and that’s just vanity and not real action.
