Why would North Korea admit that it was specifically a spy satellite? Sure, it would be impossible to hide the launch itself, but without their admission, the rest of the world could only have guessed at what type of satellite it was.
To me, this is a major ethical issue. If any actual humans submitted this “paper”, they should be severely disciplined by their ethics board.

It’s news because children don’t know any better. A lot of the time, kids are naturally trusting, and they’re being taken advantage of. Adults are the ones who need to act.

The same reason a lot of people do: because it sounds nice. Plus, maybe flowers were what the cicada was named after. When someone discovers a species, they usually get a decent amount of leeway when naming it.
