What did you end up paying?
Outside of price, what features are you getting(or not getting)with this?
I am considering a bamboo 5o replace my artillery X1 and MakerBot x2. I love both my printers, but I’m sick of being a 3D printing engineer and just want to print something out I created.
That’s the unfortunate truth. Fortunately Microsoft ISN’T doing this. Apple and Google seems to be the ones doing most of the evil.
More reasons for the US government to break them up. Their walled garden kills innovations and competition.
Can you imagine Microsoft stops selling Win11 to the OEM and is only available on their hardware? Same for the app store. Imagine having to buy your games through their store without the ability to side load software?

Google definitely has better face recognition. You can pick up a QNAP and put a Google coral and essentially do the same thing.
I also run a 3rd party software that does the tagging. But it’s annoying to do each time.
This is my setup using the 3, 2, 1 rule:
3: Raid 5 setup with 2 unused drives and setup to automatically spool up and recover if one of the drives starts failing. 2: off-site at the father in laws house (using a Xpenology super tiny PC and an external drive) 1: Monthly Backblaze
While there is risk, it’s def safer if not safer than Google drive.
I will get downvoted for this but a Synology Nas is simple and does 90% of what google will do. They also have their own DDNS or you can use whatever you like.
Downside is tou have to buy their hardware. Unless you do the Xpenology route.

As someone with ADHD with severe hyperfocus, I feel you. Just once I want to think about nothing. Even with meds, it only helps me defocus. Doesn’t stop the thinking.
Fucking apple and it’s greedy service.
Installed it on my Fold 5 and runs great until opening Wine internet explorer and it asks to install Gecko to render html. After downloading, it freezes and crashes.

I guess bamboo does not have exclusive to lidar printing now. It’s significantly cheaper than bamboo.
My MakerBot x2 has an enclosure but it only prints ABS. But leveling prints is so annoying.
