The thing is I use reddit mostly for fun stuff. I took out a lot of the political stuff that was getting me down. There’s not nearly as many niche cute cat subs or active hobbyist game subs on lemmy.

I’ve been on lemmy like 2 years. I like it but I wouldn’t say I’ve gotten used to it.

I like lemmy but reddit is still difficult to replace due to lack of content and active communities. But I ain’t using the official app so I guess here we are.

God someone needs to help friendica. Mastodon and lemmy both have pretty decent ux. Friendica looks like it’s from 2006.

Each matrix chat is it’s own channel. To admin multiple channels as you would on discord you just have to set up multiple matrix chats held by a common owner.

There is a mod role but you’re right that you can’t make custom ones though I honestly don’t see much need to for a simple privacy community.

And I think matrix has voice now.

Matrix is pretty convenient. They’ve got a great mobile and web app experience.

What exactly does discord have that mateix doesn’t? They both have threading, replies, reacts, etc.
