You can hate al you want but if you follow that line of thought paintings are just ‘painted images’ and photo’s are just ‘photographed images’. There is a lot of paintings that have 0 artistic value (like when done by children) and photographs that have 0 artistic value (like pictures of holidays and vacations etc). There being a lot of AI with 0 artistic value doesn’t mean there can’t be such a thing as AI Art.

  • You mean my pico-retirement? Sometimes i lay thinking awake before i start it and yes, sometimes I have thought about work during it and yes sometimes I think about what the day holds just after coming out of it - but that’s why you need to have a nano-retiremtent after every four to five pico-reti’s you know.

I also try to stack them if I found myself to occupied with work. I’ll allow myself a pico during a nano for example, instead of raving all night I choose to do some self-care. It’s really about finding the right balance. Please leave a like and subscribe for more meaningful insights.

  • I once heard a theory we should not tax incoming money but outgoing money. So with income tax it is not that you pay over what you receive but your employer pays tax before you get it (like you pay vat when you buy something). I am no expert but it sounded like it would really work on big corps and rich people because the bank would have to pay taxes when they pay you interest, the broker would pay tax when they pay your profits on shares. Can’t imagine it be easy to overhaul the whole system, but it would take away the ‘responsibility’ of paying taxes from the person who owns the money and puts this responsibility on the person who’s parting from the money.

As others said, you’ll get by with just speaking English - if you’re serious think of what would matter aside from language: a life in Italy will be very different than a life in German, not only the weather but also the work culture. Also think of which countries ‘match’ your education, being somewhere with loads of jobs in your expertise will make things a lot easier. I’d advise anyone able to move from US to Europe to take a leap of faith - if it doesn’t work out and the US has by then returned to normal you can just move back and if it doesn’t work out and america didn’t return to normal you’ll likely be happy at least you got out before it got real bad.

  • Where are you seeing owls being enslaved in the article?

To be honest I only read the title, bumped into a paywall when i clicked the link and couldn’t be bothered to put more effort in it.

And even if they were being enslaved, that’s better than minefields of (artificial) poison in our (natural) environment.

    I do agree on this.

Even if you’re a vegan, there’s enslaved hordes of plants behind your survival.

But not on this, although i am not gonna argue why slave animals is a thing and slave plants is not a thing.

    It’s always what’s better.

You’re right, it’s finding the balance - that was the topic of my comment basically.

  • Many people try to make Japan sound perfect, but they have a lot of problems

Japan lacks any law which prohibits racial, ethnic, or religious discrimination.

I am aware, but the difference in people’s view of Japanese people and people from US is astounding.

Agree with you and comment above, I don’t believe there is causation. Two system is surely not helping to make US peaceful.

This part of ‘what your bible says about murder and poor people’ makes it sound like the writer of the response believes it’s causational but i think they were just offended and not trying to make a scientifically sound argument. And i would understand that.

It’s almost racist because of how the first post makes Christianity sound like something superior. As if the Japanese being different in their believe makes them less.

also wouldn’t it make complete sense for Japan to have way less Christians since they were isolated for so long and have their own religious beliefs

Exactly this. Although Japanese rulers haven’t always been very peaceful, their culture is known for being caring and respectful towards others where as Americans are by many people seen as loud and obnoxious (also positive things, but i’m not trying to make a comparison between two cultures as a whole), making this comment about Japanese adoption of Christianity not only come across as ignorant but also very arrogant.
