It’s like building the wall around neighborhood you dislike for their opinions. So yeah its silencing them in sense of preventing them to speak with your part of the city but of course they can talk to themselves.
Point is they get to be isolated in their bubble, so will you . Instead we should learn to think for ourselves and they would be helped back into reality by information outside their bubble.

I agree with pyramid. Teaching someone else or doing it was indeed the best practice indeed anytime i wanted to learn something better.
I’ve said in the past and will say it again. Despite someone talking nonsense, being rude, having wrong opinions, silencing them is not ideal. If nothing else it’s exactly the behaviour of Totalitarian regime that this action is aimed at.
So again de federation is IMHO not best aproach.
3·1 year agoThanks, it is turning into endless battle like DMR vs hacker groups back in the day . Well at least YouTube alternatives will get more users and creators.
It seem idea of fedderating has spread even beyong feerated network. It’s good thing. Sort of antimonopolisti.
Right, not to mention they also giving back to community by proposing game friendly changes on kernel AFAIK.
If just most games wold run on Linux out of box at least same as on Windows, i can imagine there would be shift in market share.
One of the reason is needless bloat of Windows so even my for-noobs-distro idles around 0% CPU and less the 1gb memory without doing almost any tweaking but Win10/11 constantly sends calls home and idles on 4-6GB of rams. Other thing is how lightning fast linux can be.
