I didn’t realize Meng had tried to do this in 21 but it didn’t even get a vote as far as I can see which is why it was reintroduced again in 23 and it hasn’t moved. So they being a small group of Dems who can’t even get it to a vote doesn’t mean that much so I stand by not anyone with any power will do anything. It’s not like Dem’s have some Project 2025 with this in that goal book for the future.
No one is trying to get the voting age lowered. Could some people be talking about it and some media hacks focus on that talk? Sure, but not anyone with any power to do anything. It’s like those on the right who want to increase it again to 21. Are there some talking about it? Sure. Will anything be done about it? Not anymore chance than it would be lowered to under 18. Yeah, I’m still sitting on my Roku for the time being. I keep all my other TV connections dumb so my TV and Blu Ray don’t have my WiFi info. I did finally get a HDMI for my laptop to connect to the TV to watch racing on YT without ads which is an adequate backup option now. I have studio monitors on my PC that are better than the soundbar/Sub on the TV, but when friends are over the TV works better for watching stuff
I’ve been tempted to sign up as well so I can stream to my TV through their app. I can block anything I want through my PC but smart TV’s are too locked down for my technical knowledge so I get ad’s which is unacceptable
No large manufacturing and very rough country. I’d also guess a lot of the tourism is based in Madrid and Barcelona. I’ve looked at touring S. Spain and transportation is a bit difficult unless you bus or drive everywhere. I did corporate training for an international company for about 20 years. Once when I was in Mexico something happened in class and I said something was okay and used my finger and thumb to make the okay sign. They kind of laughed and started talking among themselves. I guess the okay sign means asshole in Mexico so when they explained that I laughed with them and said I didn’t know that. One of the jokers in class said “yeah, okay we believe you” and gave me the okay sign. lol
I’m an old fart but we learned a lot of languages in school from simple Basic to Cobol, to RPG for corporate reporting, then Pascal and Fortran for engineering, and finally C for the future. And then of course I ended up hired and placed on a DB team to write SQL for years after being hired as a C programmer. But I do feel my years in Liberal Arts majors helped me in many ways through my career and gave me a lot of flexibility to keep finding a niche as the corporate entity changed goals and methods. I trained engineering sw for about half my career and couldn’t have done that without my non computer education
You said there was a vote though? It couldn’t get enough Dem’s to even bring it to a vote. And no I don’t think a majority of Dem’s would choose to allow non adults to vote and it would certainly be dead if it made it to the floor. There are significantly more examples of Repub’s trying to restrict voting since the 60’s than Dem’s trying to expand voting beyond groups of adults who were deprived from voting like women, African Americans, etc.
