  • The best thing I ever did with home automation and children is to setup motion sensors in the hallway and tie it to my WLED strips. If anyone in the house leaves a bedroom at night, led light strips in the hallway, along the stairs, and downstairs turn on low and red for 5 minutes. There’s no turning on lights or forgetting to turn them off. It’s bright enough to see but not so bright that is jarring. Also, using red light doesn’t kill your night vision when you go back to a dark room.

  • It works really well. I’m really hesitant to give up my rear fingerprint sensor. The only thing that doesn’t work is Google Pay/Wallet. I might be able to get that working if I did a little more work, but I use it so rarely that I’ve not given much thought. I’ll be interested to see when/if the 4a gets the bump to Lineage 21.

Not everything we used to root our devices for needed root access… It was just a convenient way to accomplish it.

Shizuku does what it does through System APIs and ADB Shell. Because it’s not relying on any sort of exploit but leveraging ADB existing APIs, it’s unlikely that Google would block it.
