It’s a joke.
It’s a joke.
Who said they don’t? I just find it hilarious that one of said idiotic opinions (cats should be vegan!) is the cause of so much controversy.
Vegans causing controversy. This is my complete lack of surprise.
You misheard. It’s a problem with plange. Computer plange. Specifically snibbits.
For the price they might as well be.
Banana trees take up a lot of space. And heating greenhouses would be very expensive.
It’s a tropical fruit. It doesn’t grow well in temperate areas.
We picked the Gros Michel (before it got decimated by Panama Disease) and now the Cavendish because they can be mass grown, harvested before they are ripe, shipped around the world with minimal special handling, be ripened locally, and can survive all that without getting blemished.
While there are plenty of other bananas, really only those varieties could do that. Bananas cost less than a buck per pound. Other varieties would have to be shipped by air with special handling and cost many times more.
The smaller communities just aren’t here yet. Lemmy scratch’s the itch for news, politics, and memes, but does not cover many niche interests.
The process would be that they get sent some notice that something they’re hosting violates copyright law, and that it needs to be taken down or a lawsuit will happen. Unless they ignore it, and they should definitely not do that, then nothing else happens. I
Lemmy.world does not have the ability to moderate posts on other instances. If lemmy.world gets a notice about something federating from another instance, how would they be able to do anything about it?
The people whining are not the people that could face multimillion-dollar lawsuits over the issue. Like it or not, media companies are powerful and will go after websites seen as promoting piracy. Do what you reasonably have to do.
I mean, it says the post was about cats and vegan diets. But whatever.
Still, when they use words like “meatsplained”, I think vegans can also be haters just as much.
