I mean, sure. That’s not at all unexpected. But not even allowing the user to try at all, or making it unreasonably difficult to try, is very frustrating.

But just flat-out denying the option, or making the user jump through ridiculous custom collection hoops is nonsense. In my case the custom collection method still failed, but the extension I was looking for does in fact work just fine, after installing it with the modified user agent string.

Change your user agent (using Firefox Nightly and the user agent switcher extension, which is supported) and you can install extensions exactly as on desktop.

I have my complaints about Agile, but a bit different from this list. Teams I’ve worked in have generally tried to spec in quality control measures into story points, to prevent some of the issues mentioned, for example.

My issue is almost always just that the top half of the organisation does not, and will never, conceptualise a software project like agile demands. Business will always want X scope within Y time. And Agile demands that at least one of those to be variable. The backlog represents scope organised by time. Want X features complete? Check the backlog to see when they’ll be done. Want to deliver after Y time? Check the backlog to see what features will likely be ready by that time.

But business will not accept that. They have scope requirements and deadlines to deliver within.

Matchmaking systems basically make players anonymous. There’s basically no incentive not to be an ass, because after a match players may never see each other again, or if they do they won’t recognise each other.

While toxicity has always been an issue, it was less of a problem when multiplayer was more community-driven. I remember playing TF2 in local servers, and the thing that kept the worst toxicity in check was that people recognised each other. Regulars gained reputation with other regulars, which held value. And if someone was particularly toxic, they’d get banned.

Then you shift to an instance that mods the way you prefer.

To be honest I’m surprised code format converters aren’t ubiquitous. Let the repo have it’s master format, enforced on commit. Then converters translate into each developer’s preferred standard dialect on checkout and back again on commit.

Not really. Protein is not something particularly difficult in a reasonably balanced vegan diet, for most people. There are plenty of dietary sources of protein in vegan cooking.

Anybody requiring particularly high levels of protein is probably already supplementing it. Usually with vegan sources anyway.

Of all the possible deficiencies in a vegan diet, protein is by far the least of people’s, already small, worries.

Plant-based diets are usually superior, health-wise, to meat-based diets.

There are a couple of nutrients that vegan diets at one point may have fell short in, like B12 and D being common examples, but at this point those are present in fortified vegan milks or breads.

The only other ones I can think of off the top of my head are a fatty acid present in fish, that is easily supplemented. Or less essential nutrients like taurine, which are also easily supplemented if one finds that they really need higher levels.

I think a solution is going to be less about changing minds, and more about changing incentives.

Meat-free food should be cheaper and easier. Walking into a supermarket or convenience store, one should be greeted with affordable, tasty, plant-based meals. The more affordable and accessible we make plant-based meals, the more people are going to eat them. And showing people that they can taste just as good as meat-based meals, will mean people won’t immediately steer clear of them.
