Lol don’t feel bad, I can do advanced crazy shit with Linux like pivoting the running OS into RAM so I can unmount the boot drive to do whatever without ever rebooting
But I still [Web Search] commands a shit ton of the time LMAO
Yea, it’s got a good foundation and their campaign intro statement basically nails the hardware issue observed from past attempts, they just gotta make it to shelves lol
Fuck I hope they make it to production LMAO
@weirdo_from_space@sh.itjust.works
I’d bet it was the hardware specs, that’s what it was for me, I took one look at the specs and immediately moved on. Clearly, others were thinking the same.
I can deal with immature buggy software, software can always be freely updated. But subpar, underspecced hardware can only be fixed with buying more or different hardware
No linux phone will succeed for as long as they keep making them with shit specs
It’s what @freamon@preferred.social was talking about lol
Though currently with Boost on PieFed it doesn’t search any unfederated-from-my-home-instance comms either and also requires me to enter in the full comm address
Do you know how little that narrows it down

Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•When The Threadverse Catches You Using DiscordEnglish
263·3 months agoI have had lots of meme ideas, some even made it into production, before ultimately deciding to shelve it because it was on a topic that wouldn’t have been very welcome.
Like a meme on Amazon being late yet again (if I were to order from Amazon, not saying I do! 😅) or something. Or a meme on how sometimes I use AI and it’s actually helpful (Again, not saying I do! 😅(I want my threadilawyer)) LMAO
TUI
LemmyPieFed client when?
Hi! Yea, I’ve been cross-posting quite a bit from .ml comms to non-.ml comms because of the major issue of the .ml instance

Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•I'm A Full-Time Piefed User Now!English
31·4 months agoI’m nearing completion of my own bot now, hopefully it’s first post will be later today. Will probably need some adjustment later on since I threw it together in just a weekend (well more like 8 hours across a weekend, a little here and there because life lmao)
Yea, it’s not really a fair point (well beyond “its his bot to do with what he pleases” anyways) my interpretation of his comment was “I’m pissed it’s actually working and people are actually subscribing and growing non-.ml comms so I’m taking my toy and going home” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ LMAO
Edit:

Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•There's still no Threadiverse RemindMe bot :(English
1·4 months agoO.M.G.! A built-in reminder bot??
The Boost dev confirmed he was working on PieFed support the other day and now I definitely can’t wait to move over! LMAO

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Ah yes... NULL has been shipped
41·4 months agoWut? I can’t (and will not ever even if I could) post to .ml, this was crossposted from .ml
Why am I cross-posting .ml content?
I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don’t want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.
Some highlights from the link:
"Don’t worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167
“See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn’t count!!” ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342
.ml admin, Nutomics continued transphobia https://lemmy.world/post/29222558 The original transphobic Comment from Nutomic: https://lemmy.world/post/18236068
“NK is actually good and anything counter to that is Western propaganda!” ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/31595035
General negative sentiment to other instances who haven’t “seen the way” yet ~davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/27426510
“If you don’t support Russia then you just don’t understand geopolitics” ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/27352415
And so so much documentation on clear heavy handed censorship and bias also on the link. So much I can’t even put them all here because this comment would be really long.
I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda
On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like “Lemmy? Isn’t that the place with a bunch of tankies?” Or “Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left”. The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.
I’m sorry, you will just have to lose the arm, there’s nothing we can do
I just view it as a pointless 50 year old squabble, it’s current name is SQL to me so S-Q-L it is, ig I didn’t have “old timers” to corrupt me during the formative years of my career though so maybe that’s why.
Regardless, my real beef in this is if someone makes hiring/firing/promotion decisions based on that. Like a fun office debate about it, cool, it’s whatever. Choosing not to hire or promote someone over something so petty is asinine IMO
It isn’t pronounceable as a word, it is an initialism because the letters that compromise it do not allow it to be pronounced as a word. Unlike something like NASA which is a full blown acronym because it can be pronounced
Do you say hetips for HTTPS?
The sequel thing didn’t even start naturally, it picked up this sequel moniker because of some ancient trademark beef in the 70s between the original devs when it was named “Sequel” and some company (That isn’t even in business anymore)
They renamed it SQL and out of protest against the company people continued to call it sequel even though it makes no sense and 50 damn years later here we are. Everybody involved with direct involvement is probably dead or longggg since retired. It wasn’t termed because it was easier to say and it sure as hell wasn’t termed because its proper.
If it was originally called SQL and the above never happened, I guarantee it would just be another DNS or HTTP and many many pointless debates about it would have never happened
Disclaimer, this doesn’t apply to the MS product that is called sequel
forget PostgreSQL’s existence until data corruption.
Oh, so about 2 hours then LMAO
