Oh come on, just grab some sunlight and go. We’ve built these babes with damaged frenel lenses from huge tvs in junkyard.

That’s weird design and comparison; to get similar performance from a tool without electricity, you’d need some heat transfer mechanism between solar collector unit and consumer - steam? sand? just heat sufficient thermal mass and then load it with things to be cooked? I just hate the idea to waste efficiency by transferring energy through electricity here, while all heat losses could have been turned to profits instead. Electricity-centered approach of modern solarpunk pushes just a bit too far, too high tech in places where more traditional approaches could have been used.
Well, I must say that if you already have a solar electrical power system, it would be quite convenient to just hook up the oven there. Then on the other hand any conventional oven could probably do this same trick.
These are things that just came to my mind after reading this; I’m probably going to think about these more and try them next summer. This article is inspiring indeed!

Wouldn’t it be cheaper, more efficient, lower tech, more traditional to just focus heat with foil reflectors omitting the electricity altogether?
There might have been some context where he stated that? I haven’t seen this in his works, not that I’m sure I’ve seen all of them.

I’ve been reading about some Pueblo tribe’s ritual trip to collect salt from salt plane; there is a rock that’s a grandmother of gods of war laying to rest on the same trip and turning to stone, and you are supposed to hump her on the way to pay respects. While your grandma who just explained the rite to you waits and probably watches, idk.
Baroque cycle is quite a book about that.
That’s intellectual property, copying is no theft when credit is given, and sure he did give all the due credit to God and them some more.
Actually it’s the other way round: mostly nigredo in alchemy, as it’s by far largest part, and in physics he literally invented the rainbow.
Well…
Finnish word for bolete is kivitatti - “rock mushroom”
Russian word for this group of similarly looking boletes is “моховик” (“moss thing”)
Which particular variety is this I am not sure, I understand they mix with each other somewhat, but probably Samettitatti which translates pretty much same as Russian word for the whole group.
They just grow from some 2by old crack probably, still look awesome.
Any advice on setting up home barcoding setup? Been thinking about it for a while and will hopefully have some time to mess with it soon.
Nah, just store them wrapped around catnip and make explicitly different from clothes. Only one of my cats was destroying clothes, that was when she was just adopted from cold Luoisiana street. The rest was done by very obedient and extremely ashamed dogs.
Cat needs your attention, not electric toy. Use wasted clothes: socks on a string, sock balls, shirt tube with suspended enerance to crawl through. Build a cat tree (premade ones are junk, just nail together a tripod and randomly placed shelves on it, how hard could that be? Wrap some cord around it somewhere).
Cat toys are made to be demolished quikly, making them from something that is not waste is kind of stupid. The only things to buy are lazer and catnip, and catnip could be grown at home (lazer could be grown too but crystal fab is not a simple project).
Very sustainable, that stuff takes a beating and lasts. At least those made in EU (almost everything; they declare manufacturers - they used to sell some junk from Asia, made a mistake of buying it once, never again, and they discontinued most later.)
Wait, do you mean there is more of this content?
It’s naturally local, neighbors will see and gossip. No need to do anything other than sign. Also walk up to them and share something and tell. Putting stuff on the internet will not be nearly as effective.

Good point!
Anyway, Armillaria mellea that is all over the place right now is Keltamesisieni in Finnish (“yellow nectar mushroom”) and опёнок осенний in Russian (“autumn stump-thing”).
Are they available outside of corporate marketplaces themselves? Like, f-droid doesn’t have them, not a good sign for countercapitalist stuff.
