Next you’ll be telling me that Schrödinger wasn’t a cat

“I fear not the man who can make one thing in 10,000 languages, but I fear the man who can make 10,000 things in one language.” - Bruce Lee
The text on the railing looks like an error message from the cat
“You have to pick levers continuously at every instant in time”
Supertasks: 🗿
“I wanna eat a burger today”
Cat named burger:
Honestly, having a world that’s just alone and empty, but not “abandoned”, sounds so soothing to explore, so liminal
Until insanity set in, but until then I’d have alot of fun just exploring the place for a while
Easy billions
I can see the utility, but there should be at least some critical operability in case the phone or app doesn’t work for whatever reason, to help avoid injuries like these
Science was green
Also math was my favorite subject, and red is my favorite color, so math was red
Nah red represents the fury of dropping a negative, and blue is the sorrow of having to write with awful handwriting that stopped improving after 3rd grade
AI: “This code will create a memory leak and potentially crash the users operating system”
Me: “Nuh-uh”
AI: “Correct”
Was the lever track supposed to be a supertask? Cuz 1/(2^-n ) is just 2^n , so each instruction takes exponentially longer to execute, so unless the complex turning machine halts in like a single instruction, lever guy is gonna die 100%
But non-lever guy has the potential to either die after a very decent while, or never at all, and lever guy is safe too if i don’t pull the lever
New graph just dropped
Why is this whole post about photons? I always thought that the double slit experiment was interesting because this happened with electrons, even individual electrons would still generate the interference pattern, and I guess I always thought that you could detect which slit the election went through by detecting an induced current or something
My knowledge on the actual thing is minimal
Exactly, nobody’s gonna wanna pay $20-$80 per month if they can just run an open source version for free
Classic proprietary L, ironically enough for "Open"AI
This article isn’t saying that AI is a fad or otherwise not taking off, it absolutely is, but it’s also absolutely taking too much money to run
And if these AI companies aren’t capable of turning a profit on this technology and consumers aren’t able to run these technologies themselves, then these technologies may very well just fall out of the public stage and back into computer science research papers, despite how versatile the tech may be
What good is a ginie if you can’t get the lamp?
Common proprietary L
Another .ml user here, and yeah it looks like it
It’d honestly suck to lose beehaw again, it’s such a standout server with a really lovely community
But if the devs and the technology just can’t keep up, then I guess there isn’t much that we can do
We still can’t even block instances yet, as far as I’m aware
The embed on my client only gave me the middle 2 panels for context and honestly still funny
