I remember the counter too. The ever growing available capacity of my mailbox that was more space than I could ever use. Just open Gmail and watch that number grow

The old school programmer right here! All we’re missing is someone typing git commit -am “updates and stuff”
The Martian by Andy weir was my first experience of this. They re-recorded it with will wheaton and I “lost” my original with RC Bray. Though I will admit my version was part of the plus catalog, I still didn’t get a choice.
The feels on this are real, I dealt with this similar issue years back. Lots of love and advice for you already, but 1 thing is missing you need to hear:
This is not your fault. There are very few signs that would be seen by us that would indicate anything is wrong. Cats (and other pets) have instincts to hide the pain from predators until they are healed. No matter how much you love them, pain is weakness that is exploited in the animal world, even by trusted animals.
I hope he heals up, and I’ll be giving my cat a little extra love today.
has the definition of “no longer transmitting” changed recently?
When functioning properly, the FDS compiles the spacecraft’s info into a data package, which is then transmitted back to Earth using the TMU. Lately, that data package has been “stuck,” the blog post said, “transmitting a repeating pattern of ones and zeros.” Voyager’s engineering team traced the problem back to the FDS, but it could be weeks before a solution is found.
I mean, i’m not a scientist, is that not transmitting. flipping click bait titles.
well sure, if you want to be fancy. i was speaking in layman terms for the rest of the world.
regex for the win.

About damn time.
For the last decade I’ve paid for high speed fiber cable from Comcast, and that monthly 1tb limit was a killer with a family. So I paid the extra $50 (for a few years, then $30 these last 2) for unlimited. All for a total low package price of $250. My buddy in a nearby town with better speeds and multiple options has never paid for this add on, because he has competition in the area. I had zero choice, there were zero network improvements in my area until this year when a new local fiber company started burying fiber in my area. Today I pay $100 for 2gb symmetrical unlimited internet, way cheaper than the $250 I’ve paid for years for a forced tv/phone/internet package.
I hope there’s a class action for this. Fuck Comcast.
Honestly, nothing. But they’ve been having more network and dns issues, which caused resolution issues. So I’m moving away entirely.
No idea. I moved my personal .dev over and that was fine. But I pay for a premium .dev domain and can’t move that yet. No explanation from Cloudflare.
Cloudflare is just that. It supports most domains except for premium .dev (for now) from google. Registrar costs are at cost and no markup. Lots of options, no pressure to do anything beyond free.
Next option is Namecheap, but they’ve had issues lately.
My 5 year old dog spins when she poos. Picking up her poo requires me to check the area she was in, as there are usually 3-4 spots it landed. But unleashed, she’s fine. The vet tells me this might be harness related. Something about the restraining leash and harness makes her spin.
But now I have a morbid curiosity to see if she starts north or south.
