  • Yeah you really did not introduce them the right way. You should start over and do it properly, but first you should take him to the vet to get checked for contagious diseases that can be fatal to cats as you would not want to spread it to yours. They can also check for a microchip in case he is a lost pet.

After that, you need to set aside a room that is not important or favoured by your cat Anya, and designate that as his room. You should also give Anya a space where he is not allowed to go at all so she feels she has a safe space from the intruder. Here is some instructions how to do this properly, it may take weeks or longer for them both to be comfortable:

    https://spca.bc.ca/faqs/how-introduce-new-cat-old-cat/

There are lots of similar instructions available. But you always start with them separate, then bring them something with the scent of the other one like a blanket (not pee or litterbox), then allow brief visual contact with a barrier, allow them to explore eachothers space when the other one is confined somewhere else, and then allow them to meet and interact while supervised, then allow them to interact unsupervised. Each stage can take anywhere from hours to weeks, but you cannot proceed to the next step until they are both completely comfortable. Cats are easily stressed at times and can stop eating or peeing and this can cause serious harm to their health or even be fatal.

  • Interesting. Do you know if they would be masquerading as a woman to push their weird agenda, or just to troll? It is definitely interesting when people are crazy and talented like that, though in this case the talent is more interesting for sure… their grandstanding and transphobic takes aren’t really an original or unique brand of crazy, pretty basic. I would probably have to dig deeper to see the depths of the weirdness but my brain only has so much tolerance for consuming that kind of bs.

  • I had my same Reddit account for like 12 years and never got harassed, though someone who knows me in real life could recognize me from it, and I’m sure with some minor effort I could be doxxed. But I try to avoid associating my real name with my username, don’t post photos of myself on it, etc. I don’t doubt it’s possible though, and I’m sure something like that would prompt me to change all instances of that username.

  • Oh yeah not for some feather loss, we never bothered with the jackets either really. I only mention it because we did have to euthanize a few hens due to the severity of the wounds the roosters could inflict - and those boys didn’t even have spurs! But since it’s not your roosters causing it there isn’t much concern it’s going to get to that point.

  • Interesting, are they fed ad lib? We have kept largish flocks of roosters + breeding hens (20-30), but like 8 rooms with groups that size, year after year, and I’ve not seen much of that even when feed is restricted. But my experience with them is in a research setting, and they are a more uniform size/age/breed. It doesn’t do them harm to lose the feathers anyway, as long as their rooster isn’t too aggressive!
