I once tried making a similar argument to a game warden about only hunting deer during the day. They were not appreciative of the take.
This was after I hit a deer with my car while driving home from Thanksgiving, it was not a good time.

That’s something different, chestnut blight attacks the inner bark layer on the trunk and girdles the tree, killing everything above that point on the trunk.
Something is wrong with that die. I have no idea what he rolled, and all the numbers are on the wrong face. 1 should be opposite of 20, not adjacent.
“A Monster Calls” has a very similar premise. Mother, Child, and psychic Tree.
I strongly recommend it.
One thing that helps me is making sure the fun thing I’m doing 2/5 things at once. Fun and Excercise is skiing. (I’m having issues finding a off-season activity. I’m getting too old for my old standby Judo. It’s just not fun anymore, too much of me aches for days.)
My side project and life thing is spending time with my kid converting a Motorola Razr 40 Ultra into a slider physical keyboard phone. I have to buy a new cable for it, we broke it. But we learned things.
My job is a pretty sweet gig, and so I can spend down time reading and playing games. I beat Silksong at work. I read all of discworld and cosmere at work.
I generally make a 3 paragraph backstory. How I came to be, how I was wronged, and who wronged me.

It’s 7.5 lbs per plant, and no, I didn’t do anything but weed, water, and mulch.

It was close to 30 pounds, took up ≈75 square feet. Only planted 4 tomato plants

Not really, it was the first year. Only 4 plants.
Where I planted them gets 12hrs of sun during the summer. I only had to water 3 times, we got 2+ inches of rain like every 7 days most of summer.
All thirty pounds? (13.6 Kg)
I qualify for every class but Wizard (DNF college and who remembers thier High School GPA from 20 years ago (fuck I’m Old)), Cleric (Atheist), or Warlock (work in a small local trade shop).
I reject instruments only for bard, but I can play an ocarina poorly anyways.
Question about Sorcerer, what makes a family heirloom powerful? Is it size? Weight? Monetary Value? Notoriety?
I’ve got thick skin from 20 years of handling cardboard boxes and metal shavings.
Towards the end I was thinking I should have worn long sleeves but it was 90°F (32°C) and that sounded like that would have been worse.
It’s also my first year. Trust me my hands were yellow and sticky by the time I was finished picking.
What I’ve read online says you should pick them when they start getting firmer and having a papery feel to them, and outsides start getting sticky from the resin.
You can make a very bitter tea with it. I’ve donated mine to a local brewery. There’s not really much access to wet hops around here. So I’m excited to try the beer they’re making in a couple months.
Don’t know, I don’t smoke.
According to a websearch, it tastes like hops.
And I’m getting conflicting reports of a light sedative effect. But that’s probably just oxygen deprivation.

My biggest complaint is the sheer lack of rewards when I finish a fight. Give me any currency.
I have spent so much of this game broke, unable to buy the things I need to advance any side plots.
I’m currently stuck on the fight for the Music in the top left of the citadel. The double boss at the end is brutal. But because no enemy in that fight drops monster parts, I have to quit to grinding it to go grind more materials to build equipment, despite having slain 20+ enemies each run.
This is the second maybe third week. These are the earliest ones, most are just starting to cone.
It had a better texture and flavor, but it probably wasn’t as sweet as a store bought one, but I could get a sweeter variety and likely win there too.
Honestly everything out of the garden is better than store bought. And I’ve mostly planted and forgot it, its not like its even hard work.
Talk about learned helplessness. Protest, call your representatives, do something. Don’t just lie low, what the fuck.
