I’m sick and tired of the Capitalist religion and all their fanatic believers. The Western right-wing population are the most propagandized and harmful people on Earth.

  • A bit generic perhaps, but… Before I dumped the Zuck, + Reddit, twatter and other Western for profit propaganda outlets, I left him a gift of 12 years of posts exclusively about anti-elite, anti-Zuck, anti-capitalist and anti-west topics. I kind of hope they use it now they are data-hungry and may not be censoring effectively anymore.

Saltman/OAI, Google and others 'free AI’s they use to train their models on, are used exclusively for research about western psychopathy, the ‘Blue Church’ Market ideology, and how AGI in the hands of private ***chopath techlords and a fanatical blue Church is an absolute recipe for disaster.

So, I hide what I can, buy from need instead of Ads (I consequently boy-cut all corporations/products that go through), use FLOSS p2p tools, std blockers/filters, and only use corporate/church services now when either absolutely necessary, or to let them train on/learn what I want them to learn. Let them re-analyze important critical papers, websites, collections, etc. Not ideal or easy, but better than nothing.

I am currently planning AI agentic tools to protect me/others from the corporate/blue-church’s sphere of propaganda/manipulation. It will constantly research and fight back on my behalf. It will be an adaptive smart filter between me and the nasty market ***chopathy.

  • I don’t know, but allow me a soft rant about the ‘distributed’ part;

Couldn’t selfhosters try to ‘organize’ and share these burdens ? Why pay for external cloud backup, or anything, when selfhosters can just help each other storing parts of others backup. Then everyone have an automatic back-up.

The tools seem to be there, but Its like there are all these super-skilled infra-structure selfhosters that know everything about self-hosting solutions, but they lack the self-organizing ability to sollve these typical - and a bit trivial, lets be honest - problems in a full p2p style. The result looks to be that all self-hostings solution above the threshold of an average individual selhoster, have to be done in the cloud, and everyone is ‘siloed’ in their own mini data center.

But, with existing tools, AI and a little imagination, it shouldn’t be too hard to ‘organize’ a little (though here) design a self-hosting p2p backup solution from existing tools. …or a solution for most of the other cloud services we still rely on…

But maybe its something else ? …to me, it just seems unnecessary for a high expertise self-hoster community that - when combined - are an absolute gargantuan cloud-service infrastructure …to still have such basic capacity issues (no offense meant to op, or anyone!), and still have so high reliance on cloud services. Seems odd to me…

Neat article. I too battled with the different definitions of Entropy (in relation to surprise, order/disorder, complexity etc), but didn’t come as close as this guy.

“But I have no idea what entropy is, and from what I find, neither do most other people.”

Something is happening on a Civilization scale.

Anecdotally, I’ve experienced the same phenomenon many times, to be a non-expert, and start questioning established knowledge/experts - finding gaps and inconsistencies - while getting annoyed/disappointed. I suspect that most common people that use AI for deep philosophy/Science seem to discover that experts don’t agree on many definitions or assumptions, and that there are huge knowledge gaps that are glossed over. The established knowledge space are suddenly under scrutiny by millions of people enhanced with AI, now looking at the conclusions, disagreeing with definitions/assumptions and finding new perspectives and maybe even methodologies for the problem.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Science/The Methodology, but it isn’t a perfect thing (far from it), and the handful of Hooman experts have been converging on whatever expert level a handful of experts and pre-AI tools could reach. They could only do so much.

So far, we’ve only heard about a single paper fully written by AI, but it seems reasonable to say that all new papers are assisted with AI. Experts are being accelerated by AI from rapid ideation and combinations of disparate methodologies/perspectives etc, so I suspect that a wall of papers are under way from the more rigorous academic side. They just take a bit longer to produce/show their new thoughts and ideas. We probably need a new Science publishing system that can handle quicker feedback/evolution of ideas and knowledge.

I think we are seeing the first glimpse of the coming knowledge explosion. Millions of ordinary people are testing out established facts, going new ways, and challenging assumptions/definitions etc. They will statistically puncture a lot of the current knowledge space, and significantly accelerate soft/theoretical expert knowledge.

We will have a temporary global Democratization of Knowledge, where almost anyone can enter the debate on frontier science, based only on ideas, co-developed and checked with/by AI. AI is lowering entry-requirements to the knowledge/ideation field, and lifting ordinary people closer to expert levels.

In only 5-10 years, our current societal structures will be judged by a global population with +50 IQ. I doubt anyone will be in awe over what they see.

  • Absolutely. I’m not as AI-phobic, and I absolutely need both an information gathering agent that searches, follows rss/channels, explores/researches topics, summarizes swats of daily events, and I need a filter between me and corporate internet. Let the AI discard obvious slop, Ads/other propaganda and general informational noise.

However, you should think about how to share search-results so all our agents don’t floor small services/commoners. We really need to get more information out of corporate silo’s, and into public search/knowledge systems. Perhaps you can integrate some distributed search/knowledge properties ? (now that you have AI to help build it)

This is brilliant. A few things works best with mouse and a few with keyboard, but this isn’t about keyboard vs mouse use. This is a redesign of the human-terminal interfacing, and is similar to Bret Victors thinking out of the box, re-design of different tools. It is rare to see attempts at redesigning the interfacing with old/well-known systems like the terminal or the global short-cut system (what a mess), etc. A normal terminal is completely archaic as a modern interactive command interface.

Only thing that sucks: More and more of my terminal tasks will from now on be handled by AI, so I might not have any use for it anymore.

  • Not sure…

    1. An AI therapist can already easily handle general good mental advice, such as reducing cognitive load, perspective shifts, alternative methodologies, education of standard mental needs, processes and whatever low-level stuff we can benefit from. 2. hooman therapists are a coin-toss. Most are completely crap and build their business from archaic and/or wrong theories and personal ideology/feelings. 3. whatever flaws AI have now, is going away really really fast.

Hooman therapists cost a lot of money, and a shitload of people won’t get any help at all without AI.

So, I think it is fine. The potential damage is far less than no help at all. Just use a little common sense and don’t take anything as a Gospel - just as when we see hooman therapists.

  • “Among those announced was Hind Kabawat, a Christian woman and activist who opposed Assad since the conflict began in March 2011, and who will serve as minister for social affairs and labour.”

Without knowing; She’s put there by 'Al Sharaa’s western backers. This is how we can see who’s in charge, and this guy and his US trained female minister, are both Western stooges.

    (searching)

Oh my, who would’ve thought: “Hind Aboud Kabawat is a Syrian-Canadian politician, researcher, international counsel and activist who is currently serving as Minister of Social and Labour Affairs since 2025.” - So the usual US globalist stooge that are there to keep an eye on the new US puppet regime. This is one of the ways US regime-changes nations. They train a local puppet in US ways and ideology (lots of manipulation/money/status), they then re-introduce the stooge into their old country (that they now have nothing in common with) and puff them up via the Capitalist ‘free press’. That is how they place foreign US-propagandized politicians into foreign nations political apparatus and ideologically colonize them. See Georgia for an example of a similar female stooge of the US - now ousted. Usually they get a high international post somewhere in the ‘Empire of Lies’, as thanks for selling out their own nation to US Oligarchs.

If that’s not enough of an example, then check out the political history of any EU leader. It’s not by chance they agree with US wars around the world, they are all put there by US. Academics, news, politics, and all areas of a nations opinion/decision infrastructure is compromised.

Here they are just controlling events in the direction they have already decided for Syria and its people.

  • Yes, you are leaking data, but don’t panik. First of all, your mental health here and now is important - without it you won’t have energy for other things. Next, It takes a lot of energy to de-google or de-corp and you don’t wan’t to ‘leak’ now, but in 6 months, you’ll have your own private/foss talking AI assistant, and it will help you cut the ties to the last corporation then.

So, soon you’ll be more ‘invisible’ for the corps, and maybe you can live with the spying/manipulation for a moment longer ? Not sure how long it takes for their AI to find you anyway, but at least the removed have to work for it…

Alternatively, get a free account at Groq (also have ‘whisper’ stt), or sambanova and install/use open-webui for talking. These new hardware corps don’t train AI on free user interactions, and they probably don’t sell your information - yet. There are other methods for p2p sharing of AI resources, but they may not provide quality high enough or with all modalities.

Same here without vpn. Getting by using embedded yt player, but not optimal. Seems that freetube users could win if we had a common cache like ipfs where watched videos are stored. If one user gets the whole video, everyone have access to it via ipfs. There would still be trouble with rare videos/first view, but YT would probably not block an ip if most of the yt videos where loaded from ipfs instead ?

    Just a quick thought.
