I can’t think of any example of a button or switch that by itself can be clear if it is engaged or not. A button could be assumed to be on if in, but that isn’t always the case, like for example with emergency stops.
I imagine there’s other connections not shown near the Great Lakes since this is just showing the dominant south paths, but for the most part it does seem that the inner continent is higher north than south. Which given the geological history also makes sense, with the Canadian shield.

I’m sure their data along with further observations by bigger scopes, as well as the HERA probe planned to revisits the asteroid pair will give better insight into the complex physics that occurred.
I’m guessing the speculation of a now tumbling satellite that has varying pull because of its wobble might be the best one. It would be a real surprise if we found out that the DART probe hit precise dead center of mass and had a perfect vector change with no oddities.
That’s not even realistic. I know that Starfield isn’t meant to be a simulator, but if you put in something to try and be “real”, you should do it right. Gravity would affect the weight of something, but the inertia is still the same. Moving and stopping a big object in space with no gravity at all is still hard to do.

It’s not the only one, but Voyager is a great example of how NASA can take a minimally funded idea, have things break enroute, and still manage to get magnitudes more out of the project than originally planned. Voyager has been used for science that wasn’t even conceived of when it was launched.
Makes you wonder what we could do if we put as much money into science as we do other things.
I totally agree with you on protecting the basics of creativity and growth. I think the core issue is using “imitate” here. Is that what the LLM is doing, or is that an anthropomorphism of some sense that there’s intelligence guiding the process? I know it seems like I’m nitpicking things to further my point, but the fact that this is an issue to many even outside artwork says there is a question here of what is and isn’t okay.
True of many things we take for granted now. It would be a different world entirely. Another non-computer example would be the 3-point seat belt that Volvo left as an open patent, saving countless lives over the past decades.
