I could only wish to be so oblivious. :)

I do like 0 as freezing. We should have a new one where 0 is 0C, and 100 is 100F. Or maybe 1000 is 100F so I can get my extra resolution without decimals
Nice vid. He isn’t wrong. Though maybe we could come up with a compromise temperature scale for everyone to use. Even 100 F isn’t as uncommon as it used to be. But I would love to have more granularity without decimals.
In fairness, that isn’t just America. It’s kind of a male thing. Lol
Yeah, but you can’t argue that adding a whole digit doesn’t make it seem bigger. And take a kid who doesn’t yet know either system. They for sure will think 107 is hotter then 41. That said, I wish everywhere that gave a temp in the US would give both so I could get a better sense of Celsius. Most apps and such let you choose one or the other, but not both.
So here is one of the pages I read… https://linux-gaming.kwindu.eu/index.php?title=Should_you_switch_to_Linux_gaming%3F I saw similar sentiment in other places as well. Sounds like you are saying this isn’t the majority opinion?
Overall, I have a strong dislike for apple in general, and I won’t take a job where I have to work with windows ever again unless I am desperate. And I am also getting very tired of Microsoft’s bs. But I don’t want my main home pc to be a project either. I already use Firefox and a vpn. But every time some page doesn’t work right I have to turn off the vpn, and try chrome before I know the problem is on thier end. And it usually isn’t, well other than not supporting firefox and a vpn, but these are banks or doctors offices, I don’t have a lot of choice in most of them. There is only so much of that I am willing to do on my main home pc. But overall, I would like to be part of the solution, as long as I am a target user, which from what I have read, I am not.
Nice. My info was from googling using Linux as a home pc. So it may be a gate keeping attitude or it may be fact. I don’t want to fight with my home pc that just browser the web and plays games. Oh… I guess it runs turbotax in april.
I was reading pages about going linux only. Everyone I read warned people off about how it isn’t easy and such. That was just one example. But for work linux is easier to support, hands down. I have supported both. But for my home pc… which surfs the web, plays games, and not much else… windows is sadly easier according to the pages I read.
Sure, and where the line is drawn now is why more people don’t use Linux. I even use it for work, but still don’t want to deal with the hassle at home. I am getting a new home pc soon, and I thought maybe linux is ready. So I started reading up. No, I do not want to have to reinstall the os several times before I get it right. I don’t want another chore.
So I don’t get all this. Everything I buy tickets, I choose my seats unless I fly southwest. And even they are going to move to assigned seats.
Is this a new thing that you don’t get to pick your seats on some airlines? And if so, do they not seat everyone in your reservation together?
Most of current medicine falls into the same cayegory. Like allergy shots. Trail and error. Most diagnosis by general practitioners are just, "well people who report X, usually have Y. And bacterial vs viral… just a gut feel based on past patients who either responded well to antibiotics or not. Never mind that the vast majority never report back even.
I work in professional teams, have been for decades. Noticing an unrelated bug doesn’t block my workflow. I can fix it as part of the same pr, or just stash my changes and make a new branch for it.
You sound like the people who demand everyone alphabetize thier import statements because they don’t want to use the ide’s search.
It’s okay to have your own way and preferences, but they are yours, not everyone elses.
Yes, why are you wasting time with all that. No one uses the commit history to the level that any of that matters. If it does, you ci flow is the problem.
Only the video you see. The time marker doesn’t jump.
For me it is that things I am watching suddenly jump ahead large chunks. If I exit the app and reenter, it goes back to the right place. I have both a roku and tivo stick. This only happens on roku.
Big thanks to those who make this happen
Side question, is there a guide to tweaking things so jelly works well on roku? I have issues that I don’t think other people have. But I don’t really know where to start looking for the source of my issues.
Price increase alone isn’t enshittification. But the amount and quality of what they offer is dropping at the same time.
It is certainly usable. Though for whatever reason the series “invasion” from apple tv gave it fits. But everything else I have watched on it was fine. I’ve only had mine setup for a few months though. Roku in one room, tivo stick (android) in another. The tivo stick handled invasion. Both needed some minor tuning though.
User first, non-profit software companies. To maximize profits, software keeps sacrificing the users happiness. I want to stop having the argument that the user would want X, but hearing we can’t do that because it will hurt profits.
Missing the “oh shit need to fix this other thing but I am in the middle of a big change,” flow. I use git stash, but I wish I could include files that haven’t been added and I wish it could be tied to the branch
