This reporting isn’t fact, it’s reporting in progress. At the moment it doesn’t find the always listening allegation to be true, but not impossible either.

Cox Media Group wants to hype up their product and use AI buzzwords. To be seen as reliable they say that they work with Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc.

The report is basically CMG saying they can do X, and everyone else calling bullshit. (And in response CMG clarifying “No, we don’t actually do that” and then also removing the companies they don’t actually work with.)

It isn’t definitively saying they don’t, but also isn’t saying that they do. You can assume the worst if you like, but that doesn’t mean the worst is actually true.

Is it possible this type of spying exists? Yes. Is it possible this is a cover up? Yes. Do we have actual data to support that? No.

Tomorrow an investigation may reveal otherwise, but for now it doesn’t seem to be the case.

I’ve not read the books and after watching part 1 I was left confused why everyone loved them. I didn’t dislike the film, it was just fine, but it didn’t get me excited for part 2. Sure I’d watch it, but if it were delayed or cancelled I wouldn’t have minded.

For me part 2 is everything I wanted in a film. I would nearly go so far to tell someone unsure about the films to skip part 1 and just watch part 2. In reality I think doing that would be a bad idea, but part 2 is better than part 1 in nearly every way.

For Pokemon Legends Arceus I think what would prevent me from playing it again after 100% isn’t the amount of repeated tasks to max out the Pokedex, most of which are fun and a few of which just suck. I think it’s the slow dialogue/gameplay. When playing the actual game I’m usually having fun. When I’m stuck in a forced tutorial or dialogue it’s just a slog.

I beat the game on Normal, then went back to 100% it, then immediately played again on Hard mode, beat that and 100% it again.

If I remember correctly to 100% Mario Odyssey you need 999 moons. The game gives you 850 or so normal/good/fun moons, but the last 150 or so you have to buy with coins. For me this meant grinding a flower challenge in Bowsers Castle ~20 times in a row.

I did it, but that part wasn’t fun.

The rest of the game is perfect, but that part would keep me from 100 percenting the game again.

It’s funny because they add a bunch of stuff to try and justify the huge cost increase, but realistically I don’t want any of the new stuff they are trying to add.

Hopefully these sell terribly and will be at least half price after the holidays, then it makes sense.

For example Apple is paid ~$20 billion, or arguably charges that amount, to be the default search engine. That’s REAL money when compared to the Reddit deal.

Sure, but if the argument is that Google is paying to be a monopoly then they’re going to have to stop payment.

Google allegedly paid $60 million for access to Reddit for AI purposes. Reddit then disallowed access to all other providers, unless they can promise they won’t use the data for AI purposes.

Technically Reddit is the one disallowing access, but if the argument is that Google is paying for special access I don’t see why I wouldn’t extend to AI.

Reddit now needs to either argue their data is some special intellectual property worth $60 million or is at a price point more accessible and it sure as shit won’t be $60 million.

The funny thing is that this probably screws Reddit more than anyone. Obviously fuck 'em but funny either way.

As someone who bought “Super Mario Party” I feel you. We got at best 1/2 of a game and then nothing. I’m not sure I can be convinced to buy a Mario Party game again.

It sounds painful, and I’m concerned there will be too much menuing, but in general I’m trusting Nintendo on this one. (Well, maybe wait for a demo/review.)
