It can be both. I think it really depends on the specific cat and person. My cat “barks” for needs, “whines” when he loses us, and meows for attention or to get vocalization back. I think attentive cat owners probably know their cat and because it’s adaptive behavior it’s not the same across the board.

I get that, but at a certain level of roll it needs to be a definitive answer. Even if you don’t beat the DC, a roll like 25 should at least get something back like, “You don’t know why but you’re getting bad vibes.”

Otherwise players just feel lost and like the character’s expertise means nothing.

They have smaller white boards you can just prop up at a nice angle on your desk. These are what I use. Bigger ones that have to hang are for scheduling because I also black hole anything more than a week away. Also the white board is just off loading my thoughts so people can’t interrupt me so badly. I still use note taking apps for tracking completed thoughts or things I have to come back to.

  • I did try it, it’s far more like breach and clear and other simulators around the building clearing experience. That said I know why they’re marketing it to be like XCOM. It’s the magic, but the truth is it’s a great little puzzle game in a way that XCOM isn’t, i.e. you know what the outcome is going to be. There’s no missing 100 percent shots here! (RIP Sir Lancelot) It has a story attached with great writing and possibly a divergent story line where you have to figure out the mystery yourself. Either that or the red string board you interact with is just extra interaction to help sell the story. We’ll have to see!

Nah, I figured this out in the military. I was always the last guy to start using my night vision device. Now, to be fair this was 20+ years ago and night vision devices have come a long way since then. Even in my years we got an upgrade that was much better and I used it a lot more. But I was also the one guy hitting all the night fire targets. So there was definitely something there before I went and got old.

Mine has always been vision and hearing hard sounds, like doors closing. I can hear all the stupid little sounds like that. And I’m just weirdly good at deciphering shadows at night as long as there’s some light.

I’m sure in ancient times this variation of who has good senses for what served a purpose.
