  • I love this!

One of my cats, Ito (named after Junji), has learned to be pretty clear in how he communicates. When he reeeeally wants pets and attention, he’ll stand up and reach a paw towards my face, miming a petting motion. When he wants me to override the automatic feeder and give him extra food, he’ll look me in the eyes, say something in cat (presumably “follow me”) and guide me to the food bowls, where he will then shower me with affection and try to convince me that he deserves a reward for being so sweet and adorable. I’m weak to his charms.

Yes, I’ve heard of faith before. Philosophically riveting stuff, I’m sure.

I’m simply here to say you might try being less intellectually hostile. This extends beyond your interaction here. I agree with your sentiment, but you don’t exactly make people want to meet you where you stand. There is no “them” for you to fight. It’s just us.

You’re not really making any meaningful points for me to interact with, and as such I have nothing in myself to defend. You seem to just be really cranky and hostile.

That’s where your downvotes are coming from, by the way. You’re not appealing to reason; you’re more just being kind of a dick.

I’m referring to the bit where we have literal cryptic prompts lol

"Unveil the hidden truth within the scorching embers.",
"Decode the whispers of the arctic winds.",
"Unravel the enigma of thermal equilibrium.",
"Unlock the secrets of the thermometric realm."

There are a few unexplained phenomena in the universe that physicists do little more than shrug their shoulders at. Any of them could be evidence of other life, and there are proposed theories suggesting as much. We can’t prove anything definitively because we’re too limited in how far we can go towards explaining the unexplained, but I’d say there’s an asterisk on “nothing”.

  • In a capitalist worldview, which is indeed the system we live in, your point makes sense. However, creative endeavors existed well before the ability to profit off of them. If I didn’t want for money in my daily life, I’d still be intensely motivated to create, as it’s one of the few things you can genuinely love doing regardless of if it’s making you money. Being creative is magnitudes more “basic human instinct” than making money will ever be, and I don’t buy for a second that “nobody would create anything” without the profit incentive. I do think that we would have a very different system for sharing our creativity without copyright, and it’d arguably be a better one than what we have now.
