Piracy is whatever. Using an old school ass MP3 player in 2023 is unhinged though. I’m sure their phone can do whatever that MP3 player can do just as easily.

I already cancelled my subscription. I’m going to the subscription hopping plus piracy route now for D+.
In this case they have some justification for the RAM at least. They use a SoC, not a more typical CPU. And the RAM is available for both graphics and system memory, so for some uses, you could do things on a higher end Mac that is not possible on a typical consumer PC.
Still sucks for people like me though. I really want to switch to a mac Mini for my NAS/home server but I can’t justify the upgrade cost to get a useful amount of RAM.
Google is definitely embracing that look, but if we’re cynical about it, that’s also following in Apple’s playbook. Apple basically made the home button on their older iPhones their design queue for years. And then they switched to the notch, and it was again their design signature. And recently they switched to the pill shaped camera cutout, and again, it’s a design feature.
I mean that Pixel is the default, slick, polished option. It isn’t like Samsung that has every software feature and form factor under the sun, the absolute best specs, the lowest price, etc.
It is the slick, polished default option. The option that you recommend everyone.
Not sure what point is being made here. I’m saying that Pixel is the iPhone of Android because it is aimed at the same market. It is the stylish, simple, don’t have to think about it solution that is updated regularly and has the best their OS can provide.
That is kind of the point of the Pixel. To be the iPhone of Android.
I already cancelled my Disney+ subscription earlier in the year. I’m just letting it ride out. After that, I will either do the subscription hopping thing where I only sub when something I want is airing, or just add Marvel stuff to my piracy rotation.
The difference is that you need to subscribe to multiple services now to get everything you want, instead of just one.
That hasn’t been a concern for me since the early days of the modern smartphone era. But I can see it being an issue for older phones with worn out batteries or something.
