The problem arises when you believe I’m trying to make some sort of argument. I am not.
I was nicely trying to point out your hypocrisy. But since that didn’t work, let me spell it out for you:
Stop being a dick.

I’ve seen plenty of “punching down” towards people who buy a game simply to enjoy it. It’s kind of happening in this thread.
[Insert Billy Madison clip here]
You should read the rest of my post. You would have learned that I have watched it.
I’m betting on $400, quote me on this
Why do people manufacture arguments like this? Who is arguing that one is okay while the other isn’t? A couple random people on the Internet?
The only thing I can think of is The Last Samurai is a 20 year old movie and that somehow means not bringing up this historic fictional movie = you’re okay about a white dude becoming a samurai but not okay about a black dude becoming a samurai.
Whataboutism at its finest.
Did it not occur to this person that perhaps some people just don’t care about the movie, haven’t seen the movie, or plain just didn’t bring it up because it’s a movie? Is it “double standards” for one to pick their battles and not be enraged at everything all the time? My god this shit is exhausting.
Disclaimer: I have no opinion on the game itself because I frankly don’t care about it because I’m not the biggest Ubisoft fan outside of Rayman. Nor does the above necessarily reflect my opinion on the game’s historical accuracy. I’ve always loved The Last Samurai and Memoirs of a Geisha though and find both beautiful and touching films, so make of that as you will.
It was hyped up until Russia invaded Ukraine, then they cancelled the launch date because of that. True story.
Then it was unceremoniously released at a way later date.
Fine by me. I’ve been wanting more Advance Wars. And that’s what we’re getting.
This is the second article I’ve seen from this site recently where the author doesn’t mention what platforms the game is coming for. C’mon, guys. Have a little respect for your readers.
If anyone is curious, I did a few seconds of research so you don’t have to.
Why is there even a console war in the first place? Who really cares these days? Just get what you want.
Me? I’m lazy and don’t want to put the effort into building a PC or worrying about optimization, viruses, etc. So I just get a gaming box to plug in and play.
Okay I will.
PC isn’t a part of the console war and therefore can’t “win.”
Happy? I told it.
Not sure why people are acting surprised about this. The generations usually have been between 5-7 years. It will already have been five years this upcoming November. So 2027 sounds about right.
Can I have a turkey sandwich?
PC will never “win” a console war because it lacks the plug and play convenience of consoles.
It’s about friggin’ time.
Bad Company 2 was fun as hell and it had lots of destructive environments. I’d argue that was part of the fun.
I was watching that during the event and I immediately brought up Super Mario 64. Guess I wasn’t the only one to think that.
Of course there’s middle ground. You just don’t see it much with AAA games because, as you mentioned, it’s all or nothing with those.
But don’t forget about indies. They comfortably fit in this middle ground because they’re not afraid to take risks.
I’m trying to get back into it for exercise reasons, but I’m keeping away from the gross and greedy take on Dynamax stuff. Feels better to ignore those.
I don’t criticize people for how they spend their money. Do as you will.
Nice straw man though.
