  • This was more my take. I mean, like women just sat there and said, “Whelp, there’s nothing to do. Let’s just take care of the kids.” It’s not some natural evolution. And, for all the people studying the past (in the past) to just be like, “Men hunt, women gather,” is ignoring how women ended up in those roles in the first place. The fact that they needed “evidence” of this is, before comming to that conclusion is…disappointing, but not surprising.

My SO has a theory that if the group of people lived in a harsh environment, ie. having to work for what you had with no guarantee of food or safety, etc, it was common for women to work just as much as men. Such a society needed all hands on deck, so to speak. But, when we start becoming “civilized”, and things started getting made for us, (as opposed to an individual making it themselves.) Women and men start having diverging roles. Essentially, there’s just not enough work, so womens role turns into raising the babies, to fill the time. Eventually, for whatever reason, “civilized” society just forgot about the hard times and assumes women have always been there just to raise babies.

Disclaimer: This is based on absolutely nothing. Maybe some random information that explain that women did “men” jobs too, once. Idk.

  • For all the good they do.

The first violation fine Boring Co. received at their Bastrop County site amounted to a bit under $12,000 for erosion control. Theres at least 13 violations they’ve racked up between Boring Co and the Space X facility there, including discharging wastewater into a roadside drainage ditch. TECQ is aware of his issues, but as long as he “resolves” them, they really don’t care too much. And the funny part is that the violations started in 2021, before they even broke ground, with illegal septic systems.

Nobody ever mentions how river bend they’re located on is eroding due to documented runoff, or the now scrubbed picture of a foamy liquid leaking from the tunnel feet from the river. Apparently, it warranted an air quality violation, though, which also went without penalty.

Also, yes, Chap is mentioned in many, if not most, of these articles, but he’s really the only one watching. Without him, most of these violations would go unreported and he does provide the documentation to back up his claims, even if many of them are not super public.

  • There was a Curious George episode where George used a skyscrapers (under construction, of course) floor to ceiling wrap around windows to create a vegetable garden so the restaurant down the street had fresh produce.

It wasn’t a bad idea, minus the water damage. Just make a 3 ft planter along all the windows, instead of a window ledge or something, and you would have a ton of food.

  • It sounds like you caught it pretty early. Earlier than where it would be at for many pet parents.

Just give him love and encouragement, and do what you can to help him out. Try and reassure him the best you can through this uncertainty. Im sure hes just as confused about whats happening to him as you are. Sometimes things just happen. All you can do is to be the best friend to him that you can be and hopefully treatment will help.

You did good and you’re giving it all you got. That’s what counts.

Also, depending on the diagnosis, treatment needs, where your located, and your amount of resources, there maybe places with state of the art facilities that can help. Here we have Texas A&M. They can handle things like rare disease, chemo, dialysis, and complicated surgeries. If it looks like the appropriate thing to do, it maybe worth asking your vet if there’s someplace like that around you.

Good luck and I wish you guys the best.
