Likely corporate and/or legal politics. I would imagine things not unlike EEOP loopholing would play a big role in it. (Yes, gov’ment we are offering this opening to “anyone”. So, send that funding check right over)

What tax?
For the past few years needing a bag already came with a 10¢ charge per bag for either paper or plastic. This law just bans stores from offering the “reusable” plastic bags, which were near identical to the standard ones, just 5-10x thicker and supposedly having a rating of 125+ reuses.
Those bags were still sub-par quality, supplied in bulk, and rarely used more than once other than for filling with refuse. That previous law never made much sense.

Going by the bottom-right, it seems more of a salon for cleaning out peoples ears.
I’d be more afraid of an aggressive cat over an aggressive dog. The latter are usually easier to trick and can hopefully be herded to somewhere where they can be trapped. Cats however…
That’s sorta my point.
IIRC, the 2 minutes is the bare-minimum, and intended for someone with perfect teeth and technique. Now most people (ones who aren’t perfect) use the toothbrush, their common reaction to the timer completing is they are done brushing. They don’t realize that they were likely rushing to keep up with the timer and ignoring different plaque hot spots.
I personally have a couple crowns that my previous dentist screwed up on and mis-sized the base, leaving a ledge where food and plaque get stuck in. If I don’t spend extra time around them, tatar will form like a madman. (Same issue with my lingual bar before I had it removed)
I’m alright with a timer to help keep rhythm and let you know when you hit the minimum, but don’t make it integral to using the damn brush and turn it off when it hits zero.
Cotton Hill, is that you?
I’m already annoyed at the prevalence of that 2-min timer on every powered toothbrush.
Did you read the article?
It explains that their daughter’s experience more or less opened their eyes to the treatment as a whole. (As in not just their family) It may be spun that way, but for two (likely groomed) 70’s+ republicans in a primarily red state, to have any diverging beliefs from their party is a good thing. It shows that the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, while admittedly slow (and shouldn’t be necessary), is showing progress, even if it’s small.
As another user mentioned, they could have just disowned their granddaughter, like a lot of bigots do. I’ve seen it happen and know a few people that it happened to. It’s not a good feeling being alone in the world because your family doesn’t agree with your identity.
I say that while the fight is still going on, we can at least enjoy this, albeit tiny, victory.

Wouldn’t this do the same thing in humans?
He did it for a two-fer. He educated the general public …and handed eloin his ass.
They haven’t left, they just chum the water a bit and sit back and enjoy the show.
With hard vacuum though, I believe I remember you may get a couple seconds of consciousness before you pass out from the stress. (unless it’s explosive which could knock you out instantly) You should usually get a couple minutes without any permanent injuries before death from asphyxiation. Any injuries would more or less be your larynx and eardrums, both from air getting rapidly pushed out. To minimize it you would need to be actively exhaling while opening the tubes to your ears (what you do when popping them) which will allow air to escape less forcefully.
Emboli and frostbite will however happen towards the end of those minutes. But with us being mostly a mix of liquids and solids, (with dissolved gasses) which take time to sublimate, (evaporation in a vaccum) no insta-freeze or red mist.
She should keep one in her nest.
A router would be different though. It would keep the same radius regardless of building geometry as it’s signal degrades with physical distance from its antenna.
A dehumidifier works by running air through it and removing moisture then exhausting the now dry air out. The dry air would then intermix back into the room’s air, lowering it’s total humidity level. It may take a little more time based on the turbidity of the rooms air, but a dehumidifier would have the capacity to dry a .25x20x24m the same as a 3x5x8m room as both contain the same amount of air in their 120m³.

A different idea for a mammogram. The current method involves flattening the breast as much as possible between two plates which can be very uncomfortable, even painful for women.
