Finally, Apple says it will work with the GSMA members on ways to further improve the RCS protocol. This particularly includes improving the security and encryption of RCS messages. Apple also told 9to5Mac that it will not use any sort of proprietary end-to-end encryption on top of RCS. Its focus is on improving the RCS standard itself.
Notably they will NOT use Jibe, which is Google’s RCS implementation.
Apple is going to compete against Google with trying to get carriers to use an open standard and improve that rather than going with Google’s proprietary implementation.
Also the two instances are ran by the same admins. Lemmygrad is just their more mask off instance.
Lemmygrad and lemmy.ml we’re both started by the Lemmy devs themselves.
Guaranteed security updates. Not OS updates.
OS updates for the 7a are only guaranteed until May 2026.
5280 burger bar. They have a place in Denver and one in Westminster.
It’s not uncommon in midwestern states that border Canada. I used to get it in Michigan all the time. I’ve also got a burger place by me in Colorado that does a great poutine.
But really we just don’t have the right kind of cheese in large enough quantity to be nationwide.
It’s not an eagle though. It’s a thunderbird, a Native American symbol.
Looks great, but I’ll never understand pre-slicing a steak you cook yourself.
It’s good for presentation in a restaurant, but it gets so cold so quick once you slice it unless you have plates stored in a warmer like a restaurant.
Name a console that has WiFi 7 compatibility. It’s none.
PS5 has WiFi 6, not even 6E. Xbox Series X has WiFi 5.
Both have only been around for 2 years and have another 5-6 left before a new gen is released.
The phone having WiFi 7 is irrelevant if nothing else you have has it.
Oh come on. Being ND doesn’t mean your mind jumps to sharing child porn. That’s a fuckin cop out.
It’s probably projection. Nobody reasonable would have jumped to the same conclusion. It doesn’t even remotely read like that.
Why are you such a weirdo where that’s where your mind goes.
Sharing positive hits isn’t saying share the images. It’s saying share the data on who what when where how the hit showed up positive.
Who shared it.
What was it (this is obviously going to be some kind of CSAM given that’s the tool).
When did they share it (time stamps).
Where did they share it (was the same image hit on other runs and what instances did it hit on with the tool).
How did they do it (local sharing, an image hosting service, etc).
Why are you using median household income for Thailand and median personal income for the US?
Median household income in the US is $71,000.
How fuckin childish.
Are you paying anything for this service? No. It has costs to maintain while they’re shouldering that on their own and giving you this service for free.
Get over yourself. The entire point of the fediverse is that anyone can host an instance. You can spin up a little free instance yourself and federate or defederate/block anything you see fit.
Why don’t you? I’m gonna guess because you want a low effort, free service to get your scrolling fix. In which case, they’re right. Go to a different instance that suits your values more. If you want an instance that won’t defederate or block others unless absolutely necessary, go join Lemm.ee. They federate with basically everyone and don’t block hardly anything.
And, Lemmy world is federated with them. So you won’t lose a single thing here if you move there.
It doesn’t really have anything to do with DMCA (a US law). Lemmy world is hosted in Germany which is even harsher on copyright than the US with much stricter penalties.
The world doesn’t revolve around the US.
Net worth taxes are stupid.
Just tax loans collateralized by stock as income, and give a deduction on the interest when they pay back the loan.
That’s currently the biggest loophole the wealthy use. They use their stock portfolios as collateral for loans, which are untaxed. Then as their portfolio grows they take out more loans to cover the old one and fund their lifestyle, or they liquidate some of their assets at the much lower capital gains tax to pay it back.
Just tax collateralized loans as realized gains and be done with it.
