I got one!, there are only 3 trees in existence (only 1 mature enough to fruit and 2 cuttings) rn and the apples taste kinda like pears but with an apple texture.
We’re a little worried about what happens when the astral calender hits the new millenium but no ones figured out how to insert another date rune without causing the whole magic circle to start smoking alarmingly.
Shadowruns actual rules aren’t so bad, character creation is crunchy but you could fit all the non matrix/spirits combat stuff onto maybe 2 sides of a single A4 sheet. The real problem is the editing, that information is spread across the entire rulebook so badly that sometimes it even feels like the information was cut off mid paragraph.
The placebo effect also works even if you know its a placebo… Though sometimes I wonder if that information is in itself some kind of benevolent false information campaign to create a second layer of placebo effect around placebos. A placebo effect of the placebo effect working even if you know about it as it were.
I see it as trying to combat the dystopia where not only is our data scraped but now every single thing we write, draw or film is fed into an AI that will ultimately be used to create huge amounts of wealth for very few, essentially monetizing our very existence online in a way thats entierly unavoidable and without consent.
In addition its entierly one way, google and others can grab as much of our data as they want while most of us would have an extremely hard time even getting granted a freedom of information request about ourselves, let alone grabbing a similar amount of data about those same corporations.
Still being figured out, recent measurements made the hubble tension worse and we’re currently trying to better understand how voids influence the movement of galaxies; one possible result which could be the discovery that the universe isn’t inflating at all (unlikely but credible enough to be investigated).
iirc actually pretty much exactly like what we see right now in regards to the observable universe but only if the universe itself was a blackhole and not just us specificaly.
Eh pathfinder 2e is definetaly better than D&D but 1e is honestly really harsh in terms of character builds.
On the other hand in certain applications you can replace a significant amount of programming ability with a good undertstanding of vector maths.
My personal issue with github is more the placement of the actual download links, sometimes its harder to find than the real download button on a dodgy pirate site without ad-block.
Especially given humans have real standout traits like being endurance hunters, somewhat rapid scarring and a high resistance to shock (advantage on constitution checks?)
Damn thats an incredible degree of overreach and looks like it gives established companies the power to take down any rising competitions websites without oversight.
to be fair plenty of older games hold up today in terms of gameplay if you don’t mind dated graphics (or if the game uses a timeless visual style). There are a few that I’d totally pay full price for a re-release simply because its hard to get them to run on modern systems.
There are some real life fungi that are radiotrophic (like photosynthesis but with radiation [ok light is also a kind of radiation but you know what I mean]) So at least part of that makes sense but not the adsorbing a nuclear blast bit.
Pff the UK is spending that on a 70 mile railway thats going to be slower than the one already there, already spent nearly 2x the projected FCC budget on just 6 miles of the fucking thing.
This is what I meant, if everyone is running googles web integrity API it also effectively allows google to ban other browsers from even existing by denying them access to all major sites.
Lets call it what it is, googles attempt to create a situation in which they can ban all competition and establish a global monopoly.
It still doesn’t have a magnetic field, the theory was always that it used to have one which then shut down as the core solidified. The only difference is now we know it not 100% solid yet.
IP protections don’t protect anyone but the rich in any form, Disney have been caught selling T-shirts with art outright stolen from small artists online buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo and their only punishment was that they had to stop, no admission of liability and they got to keep all the money they made. Hell the guy who invented the underlying concept behind the TV never saw a penny because a radio company decided that it was their invention and managed to drag it out in courts until the patent expired.
