I think one of the biggest differences between then and now is that the population doesn’t live in the same “version of reality.” Back with FDR people were all essentially on the same page and could unite as they shared a common understanding of their issues. With all the myriad forms of media and technology working to keep us essentially living in different worlds the capacity to unite has been utterly decimated, by design of course.

The timing of this is hilarious to be honest, they just released their only anime school girl character in the patch that dropped like 2-3 weeks ago lol before then there wasn’t anything really like that.

This recent patch goes against the whole feel of the game and was created as a “love letter to anime” as people seem to be describing it as. It’s chock full of references to anime where the main game does do that, but not nearly to the extent this patch did lol

That’s a fair point. They even got me for a while, I got too comfortable being ok with “supporting” the company since I loved the game so much and before you know it 6 months later I’ve spent like $700 on it…

I can understand wuthering waves. I never in 10000000 years thought I’d be saying something like this about a gacha game, but wuthering waves is probably my favorite game in like God knows how many years. The combat is really fun, it all looks absolutely amazing on pc, the story is great even side quests and side stories (a freaking character side quest had me crying as a 40 year old man…) it’s really just a good game.

I’d honestly suggest more people try it, you 100% do not need to spend any money whatsoever to enjoy the game and its story. When needed you get “trial” characters set to the appropriate level to complete story stuff and they’ve actually made a main character who isn’t complete and utter dogshit. They’re good in many team compositions.

The only place you’d feel like maybe you want to spend is if you want to do the dick measuring sweaty gamer endgame fights at the hardest difficulty, but it’s still doable without them.

Is this what that uncanny “too smooth” look is on my parents TV? Whenever I’d go to visit them whatever they had on always looked like the camera motion or character movement was way too smooth to the point it was kind of unsettling.

It all depends on what you like. It’s a good mix of dark and light and the paimon knock off is pretty chill, they really only pop up at important times in the story they aren’t the constant annoyance always speaking for the player like paimon is.

The 2.0 arc goes through a fantasy like land that leads to a gladiator/rome themed area so not sure how you feel about that but it gets dark all throughout that. The next area we’re going to is kinda unknown but it seems like it’s going to be much heavier in the “tech” vibe and should give a lot of backstory to the main character since they seem to have some connection to this new place.

I guess it depends on why you think it’s bad, so for me it’s Wuthering Waves. I absolutely love that game, but it’s “bad” because it’s a gacha game and that monetization scheme is absolutely fucking disgusting.

The game itself is actually really good and the story/side stories had me cry like 4 times already lol

I can’t, I have well water that is not great to consume. I have to buy bottled water unfortunately.

I cannot for the life of me get my cat to drink… I’ve tried keeping the bowl separate from her food, Ive tried the flowing water fountain things, I’ve tried different bowls… At one point I completely stopped giving her kibble and only give her wet food now because I was worried she wasn’t getting any water at all.
