Ukrainian here, pretty eastern European. ISP doesn’t make enough money to care.
still mozilla
edit: I get it, stop replying
On Ladybird, you can block yourself from supporting the devs
What are you actually broadcasting while doing so? That you are using KDE Connect?
That + device name which is probably pretty unique. Chinese routers scrape all of that. IIRC mDNS is actually disabled on Linux for now because it was conflicting with Avahi which broke some more stuff.
do not use KDE Connect on other networks
Last time I used it, I don’t recall a toggle for that in either the Linux or the Android clients.
Edit: what alternative device discovery solution could be used by KDE Connect to make it more private on untrusted ntetworks?
Exactly as it is right now but on a whitelist.
Offtopic but I am really annoyed by how many custom ROMs (especially LineageOS) disable MAC randomization at build time and make zero mention of it on the wiki/forum/whatever page. That’s just as important.
KDE Connect seems to send identifying broadcast packets constantly (just like gapps), not the best for privacy on public bing chilling router WiFi. Android itself technically does too, but you can just change your device name to " " (space).

Most apps print stuff in the same loop as everything else, so stuff like alacritty might help it a little bit. It’s not really that significant most of the time, however.

A little bit more about the sponsor on HackerNews.
If you are a lazy bastard not wanting to click this, basically there a quite a few issues with the main goal of Hack Club (not the fiscal sponsorship sidequest), such as not using a privacy policy for kids for 11 years, many leaks of said data and misclassifying workers in at least 2024.

I did that before just getting Arch.
Also, I wonder if KDE on Ubuntu stuff still includes that FUCKASS FONTCONFIG FILE THAT MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK SHIT I SPENT 4 HOURS LOOKING FOR

No, I am talking about FOSS games

dos uno💀💀💀

Oh yeah, gotta love that. Some people have “Minecraft phases”, I have “STK/hedgewars/teeworlds” phases. Proud owner of an AUR package for a QoL client for Teeworlds, was dead simple to make that. Unless you mean the original TuxKart (not super), in which case that’s dead. And WarMux is dead (albeit still mostly playable), same with that one game that is also like a Worms clone but real time. I wish those were brought back…
Oh, and I forgot the name but there was this one tron clone that still mentions modem preferences and has some really really really low default graphics options but still has quite a few online players, I wish I didn’t suck at the game…

One guy told me he plays Mario Kart. As a reason to not install Linux.
As any eastern european would say:
I don’t speak woman, purple is purple

None. It is no longer “cool” to post your entire life onto the internet. Source: I am a kid.

Nobody does personal blogging. Well, except a few specific primates doing so on Xitter. And I’ve also seen some people with at least half a brain getting a domain and writing blogs there in hopes someone clicks on their link.
You forgot unempl*yed teens
