I see where you’re coming from, but I wouldn’t want to be caught reading this at work.

I know it may not be an easy question to answer, but does your company really owe them money? I’m guessing that their other software that uses their JVM also has a license, so they should be more clear about the company having to license out the JVM in order to use it. This sounds like a scam that comes packaged along with some other software.
This is a beautiful game. The OST and visuals are amazing, and the movement is pretty fun as well. I remember playing a couple of times with one person through the whole game. Once was one of my first few runs, and the last was a white robe who showed me where all the collectibles are.
This one is strangely realistic.
He’s right you know. Scrapers and journalists will simultaneously know and respect the fact that he is not in the US, nor does he allow them to use his content without adherence to the license that he tacked on. I mean who would do that? And if they do? Oh boy they’ll be in trouble. Cory Doctorow will probably fire on them from his balloon or something. It’ll be glorious.
Coding requirements could be a lot less strict if we just solved this bus problem.
Every method has vulnerabilities. If you are concerned enough, you can take the legal route and the technical route to make attacking the system require different areas of expertise.
One can and should be angry about both. I wouldn’t go so far as to call the person who posted this a racist, but it’s still not a good practice. Taking an example of a stupid thing someone did and directing the criticism at their race isn’t OK for good reason. (Yes, saying “a white male did ____” is directing the criticism at the group, not the individual.) It encourages people to form judgments about white males as opposed to assholes who belittle others, which is who she’s really having trouble with.
The same thing being done to minorities and women is a much bigger problem, but using the same attack in the opposite direction isn’t exactly a good solution.
You’re supposed to talk to philosophy dragon, not slay it.
And half a quarterling is a sixteenthling, just like music.
You can test drive the car before you buy though. I did some months ago, though I didn’t end up buying it.
Granted, you don’t try the exact vehicle that you’ll be buying. You used to be able to return the vehicle within 7 days, but it looks like they canceled that policy.
I’ve never seen this one. I love the reflection and the differences in how each person is posed. They are looking at different spots too. Makes it almost feel more like a photo.
It’s not like there is a shortage of text editors on Linux. This is fine.
I might be more inclined to agree if there was some benefit to having him show up in person, but I don’t see why he can’t just attend this remotely. People get sick after being vaccinated too. Maybe is a minimal risk, but it seems like a pointless risk nonetheless.
Check out Slay the Spire if you haven’t already. I did find some forum posts with people complaining that the touch controls don’t work well, but you can try the game and refund it if it’s not working properly. (At least steam should make this pretty easy.) it worked well for me on iPad, but I can’t personally vouch for the experience on windows.
Dang. I was optimistic that they may be trying out a linear single player shooter, but I guess that was naive of me. The live service model is making so much money for them, so they’re doing the most sensible thing. This is just them recycling some old IP, not an actual revival.
I’m tempted to give this a try. I already am really happy with my VPN and password manager, but it looks like you can subscribe to mail/calendar for a reasonable price. If I did that and drive, I’d rely on Google a lot less.
